IMG Criteria Changes

A couple of positives for Cas
1. Stadium points previously gained will be temporarily retained through stadium redevelopment works - As touched upon by MJ in his latest podcast . Fantastic news for us as we won't lose any points for the stadium during any upgrades
2. Catchment area can be expanded by signing a RL development agreement with a neighbouring local authority - Potential for an increase of 0.5 or 1 point .

See they voted not to have promotion and relegation again as well

Re: IMG Criteria Changes
yeah , no real surprise though . None of the 3 Cat B SL clubs would vote for it , and considering that Leigh , Wakey and us or all just over the Cat A threshold and the new tweaks made will mean some clubs will lose points , it was probably not going to happen , especially as this is only the first year with IMG criteria officially counting . It may be something that comes back in the future though .

In addition the proposal could have forced Superleague to expand if the existing 12 were all Cat A even if the promoted team was Cat B5menofsteel wrote: ↑04 Dec 2024, 18:54yeah , no real surprise though . Re: IMG Criteria Changes
Great news. Thought we might end up doing a 'Wakey' and having a year in the Championship when the stand redevelopment gets underway but banking the stadium score for 2 years does away with any threat of that.
Also positive if we can find a way to utilise the more relaxed approach to catchment but that could be tough geographically.
Teeside (Tees Valley Combined Authority) would be a decent call - pretty close and a big population to count with no RL Clubs.

Agree regarding stadium . Without this we were in danger of losing a full point , and potentially ending up in Championship.Shameless wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024, 17:05 Great news. Not sure about Tees Valley as I don't know if this would class as a neighbouring local authority . Maybe somewhere like Selby or Barnsley ( which has already been mentioned by Wakey fans on their forum), would be a better option .
Re: IMG Criteria Changes
Is it neighbouring mate. Missed that in the guidelines. That really makes it tough, haven’t Goole just set a club up? Thing is the 2 Hull Clubs will be looking at anything to the East and we have Wakey and Sheffield to the South. Tricky one because it needs to be big enough to make it worthwhile population wise. I’m sure someone at the Club has the maps out!

It’s going to be interesting as Cas, Feath and Wakey have got identical Local Authority Boundaries5menofsteel wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024, 18:01Agree regarding stadium . Re: IMG Criteria Changes
It will be interesting . I wonder if 2 or more teams can set up in the same neighbouring district and share the population in the same wasy as we do now for WMDC . I guess we will have to wait and see when the new Grading Handbook comes out before we know exactly what is required and how many extra points will be available.
