2025 expectations
2025 expectations
bit dull on here this post should cause some debate
Re: 2025 expectations
I think we are stronger than last year assuming we still have a couple of quality forwards inbound at some point.
Year 2 of the 3 year plan so would like to see us back in the fight for the top 6. I dont think or expect us to make the 6 but scrapping around the 6-9 spots would show we are on track. Then hopefully stengthen again and aim for the play-offs in 2026.
It's a young squad and new coaching direction so we may be the surprise package of 2025.

Re: 2025 expectations
Think this all depends on the squad. As it stands at the minute I’d expect us to be near the bottom of the table. We are relying so far on the Aussies and png stars to come over settle in and rip SL up, but as proven over the last year or so this hasn’t happened straight away. Maybe with 1/2 exceptions to that, most of them fail or don’t like living here and get home sick. If we can improve and bag 2 big forwards and add another 1/2 more experienced squad players to the squad for stability, I think we could push for a 7th-8th spot. I don’t think we will be anywhere close to getting guaranteed play off footy for a few years yet.

Re: 2025 expectations
Unless we strengthen ie: couple of props, I can’t see us doing much better than last season.
I don’t think hull fc wiil do much better…..old squad..
Wakey will find it hard, new division, lots of new players to gel.
I think we’ll be fighting it out with those in the bottom 3, maybe Hudds as well.
We need at least 5/6 new players to come in.
We know what we’re like with injuries.
So we’ll see.

Can't see us doing much tbh. Wakey will probably surprise a few and Hull FC can't be that bad again (can they).

Re: 2025 expectations
With the squad as it stands we will do well to finish 12th. The squad looks weaker if anything than last years and without some quality added to the pack it is going to be a long season.
Re: 2025 expectations
As it stands probably bottom. Add the forwards we need then 7th-9th is more likely.
Re: 2025 expectations
All about keeping out best 17 fit which rarely happens.
If ASI or Milnes get injured we will struggle.

Re: 2025 expectations
I’m thinking 12th as we are. Need some quality additions to be more optimistic.
Re: 2025 expectations
If we can keep our main players fit I’d say 9th ahead of
Hull
Huddersfield
Wakefield

Re: 2025 expectations
Lack of strength in depth.
Lacking a halfback, 2nd row and Prop.
Long season ahead.

I remember Peter Small

Re: 2025 expectations
We obviously need more forwards and a bit of luck with injuries.
I'm quite enthused by seeing what Delaney can do in defense and expect a much more potent attack with Hoy, Asi and Rimbu.
Think we could suprise a few to be honest but 8th-9tg at best.

If we don't finish bottom in 2025 we have done well.

Re: 2025 expectations
We’ve got worst pack in league and our two best starting props will have a combined age of 90
Re: 2025 expectations
I had no idea we’d re-signed Andy Lynch and Danny ScunthorpeTigersbarmy wrote: ↑29 Nov 2024, 06:15 We’ve got worst pack in league and our two best starting props will have a combined age of 90
Re: 2025 expectations
I would have thought that any 3 year plan that we may have had was out of the window and it’s a fresh start with a new team in the boardroom and on the touchline, like a new government almost, new personnel new ideas and agendas.
