Really positive news. Be interesting to see what Marton can do with the club with his accrumen and connections. Can't help put think there's alot more chance of the ground happening now.

The only question mark I have is around his levels personal wealth and ability/willingness to add more money if required. We know how costly a competitive club can be with the low levels of central funding and the massive losses clubs are making. That been said if he is successful in bringing other investors in this becomes less of a risk.

You mean there’s something about the inner workings of our club you don’t know

He’s gone into this with his eyes wide open and having had time to do some due diligence. The sector is a tough one but I expect he’s got enough business acumen to be able to meet whatever targets for profit or managed loss he and his business partners agree

Martin Jepson is clearly going to be the saviour of the club and when everything is ratified, I believe we will look back on today and pinpoint it as the moment our beloved Castleford began to hit the big time.....

The only sad thing for me is that DP's reign didn't coincide. However, he could always come back for a second spell at some point.

All hail Martin!

Thank you Mr Jepson for doing what you have done so far, the fans are with you all the way!

Ps. Enjoying imagining everyone at the club a$$ kissing and manoeuvring themselves to be still in a role or still keeping connected.... 😂Martin will see straight through the yes men...

Have you told him that you “know we’ll be out” of Super League by the end of next week?

It will be interesting to see how he intends to run the club. wether that be himself, director of rugby etc, new coaching staff, view on salary cap spending and if applicable a marque player. Most of the statement yesterday was a promise to get club back to been successful on the pitch of recent years, id assume he means the DP era. With saying that, has he got the cash to splash on a DP type of coach and players to be successful? Let us see.

When DP took us to new heights the man at the helm was Steve Gill a Cas supporter through and through Mr Jepson is akin to Steve but with more ££££ lets sit back and hopefully enjoy the ride

As expected Wakey fans on RLFans are spewing out cynicism and resentment about this positive Cas news.
How they can’t accept it as great news for SL in West Yorkshire I just don’t understand.

No disrespect to Steve, but I suspect that MJ has a lot more business acumen too

Lingard will do well if he gets what DP got to spend off the top of my head 100k for Liam Watts 150-160k for Zak 60-65k for Wardle 40k for Matautia these weren't players that came off contract hard cash was paid for them

Would Linguard be able to get the same results from the same resources as DP had?
For me the jury is still out.
I suppose time will tell.
IF he gets money to spend it will probably show by next season before we know if he’s up to the job.

Wouldn’t worry about that lot one nice stand which they haven’t filled yet and 3 stands what look like eastmoor council houses and flats.

They will struggle next season and crowds will be the usual 4k a week.

never thought how much deep seated hatred the Wakefield fans have for us , we ought to have let them win a few more games , they are bragging their gates up , i am wondering if we had given the ticket offers they did last season what would have been the size of our gates, £100 and two free kids anyone , we will see next year if ticket prises go up, plus midweek matches which are on TV if there gates move up

For anyone interested, these are the takeaways from Mark Jepson's first interview since the news broke of his take over.

Take over
- MJ will have effectively 100% control of the club as of the end of January 2025.
- Now has total management control of the club.
- Has a number of investors interested in investing in to the club down the line.

Off the field
- Says his first task is to secure SL status under IMG and is pretty confident we have.
- Second is to ensure the long term stability of the club, mainly focusing on the future development of the ground, says it's a little way off has it is out of the his/the clubs hands, but one of his bigger focuses going forward. Looking likely for 2026, but will do a lot in the short term.
- Says the facilities have certain limitations, but wants to make them the best they can be. He's not convinced they are up to standards and wants to tidy up the place on and off the pitch.

On the field
- Says he thinks we outperformed and was happy we suprised 1 or 2 by not getting in to a relegation battle. But irrespective of the IMG rankings, he wanted us to not finish bottom so that there could be no questions that we only stayed in SL because we spent the money wisely to work the system.
- Knows we punched above our weight considerably in 2024 and appreciated we are no where near the finished article, but optimistic that the squad and certainly the young lads who were thrown in are now a year older/experienced.

Signings
- When asked about new signings, he had a rye laugh and said to leave it for the coming days, there's a lot to go through in the next week or so and appreciates the IMG rankings are coming out shortly. Been working hard behind the scenes and there will be news on signings very shortly.

IMG
- Was asked if he's gone in a bit early taking full control, with not knowing the IMG results, but said he has taken the punt now as he wants to get on with making changes as soon as possible and starting to plan the future of the club.

Ground
- Regarding the redevelopment of the stands, he says the reality is, it is out of his/the clubs hands due to the timing, as it is dependant upon money coming in to us from a developer, who is developing a site out at the M62 junction. Can't see it starting until the earliest September 2026, so can't see anything before that. Can't say it won't happen but very unlikely.

On the fans/future
- Hope the news of his takeover is positive and hopes everyone can buy in to the vision. Knows it's now up to him to explain where he sees the future of the club. The new structure of the club, the board and what support is needed on the playing and coaching side. Said whatever happens in the next few years, the club needs to improve throughout, so that there is a strong team/club for the town of Castleford.

Thanks. That’s a fair summary. I hope fans show some restraint and understanding on the stadium timetable. As I’ve sat on here time and again, major developments only happen when all the ducks are in a row. Planning is crucial, but funding and cash flow are vital, and getting that sorted for the Axiom site so that development can start was always going to be key to the stadium proposals

Can’t believe that’s typical of all their fans though, any more than this Forum is of ours.
They’ve been in our shadow since the mid 1960s and some of the extreme ones just need to get over themselves and be grateful they’re getting another chance at the top table after underperforming for the best part of half a century
