Re: Nine Gone
Please use the quota spots wisely.
Re: Nine Gone
Horne, Namo, Hoy, Cini, Asi & Rimbu all apparently on deck next year. That doesn’t look too bad. But you are bang on, that last spot has to be nailed. Needs to be a prop for me.
Re: Nine Gone
Fingers crossed they are decent.
Shame Namo not off could have got a Aussie prop and Kennedy from London.

Wipping boys next year if we make it
Be a long season of struggle unless we see some major recruitment

Mustapha should be in championship he’s terrible.
No way I would want to see him with the 8 shirt.

Re: Nine Gone
Need a big name in at prop.
Westy and watts are just about done.
Both won’t do a good 80 mins, need a wamasley type prop, someone who will put his head down and break a tackle.

Re: Nine Gone
We need two great props and 2 great back rowers imo; a good centre…
All good quality at least anyway.
Expect the 9 going frees up around 600k on the cap, and we’re already under the cap by another 500k at the very least, more like 1m?
So I’d expect us to have circa £750k available to use in my very rough estimation. If you don’t agree, how much do you think we’ll make available?
That’s 1 or 2 excellent signings and another 5 or 6 good ones…

We all know the clubs way, on the cheap.
I’m not expecting to much but hoping for the best.

You ain’t getting a centre, Zac Cini is that signing. Could be great, could be useless, only time will tell there.Mysterio wrote: ↑07 Oct 2024, 19:21 We need two great props and 2 great back rowers imo; a good centre…

Two props and two back rowers, yes, definitely. However with only one quota spot and very little available off contract then you aren’t going to get great there either. We may need to take a chance and offer someone like Harvey Livett regular game time to fill a back row spot or add in someone like Jack Hughes for a year.
Props are a problem. I’d love Matty English back but i can’t see it. There’s talk Liam Byrne might be heading out of Wigan, i’d offer him very good money to be our pack leader for the next 5 years. We wouldn’t be the only club interested though. Quality available non quota front rows are like gold dust though.
Really we could do with another genuine option for halfback as well. Windley i like but he is very raw, needs to physically develop and probably could do with a year on loan in the championship. Rocky Hampshire fits the bill but he usually prices himself out of deals. We’ve a few gaps to fill for sure if we want to improve next year.
Re: Nine Gone
As it stands. I’d like to think we have a couple to come yet. Really Muzzy should be 5th/6th choice squad player.Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑07 Oct 2024, 20:31

Re: Nine Gone
Maybe a prop from our partnership with Manly?
Re: Nine Gone
Definitely need to use the quota spot on a prop (as there's hardly anything about) and Iikewise I'd be making a very competitive offer to Bryne. The Firm wrote: ↑07 Oct 2024, 20:33You ain’t getting a centre, Zac Cini is that signing. Not heard any rumors about Kennedy signing anywhere so could be the quota option and if Bryne is a no go may need to look at a UK London player for the other prop.
Similarly will be none quota backrowers, maybe Royal(Saints).
