Re: Cini Signed
I still say at the time you quoted CL saying we hadn't signed anyone for 2025 yet was a true statement. He has since said we are talking to agents n are hoping more will be signed.old cas lass wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024, 20:46No axe to grind.jackknife wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024, 20:18Because he's been honest at the time he said it nobody had signed.old cas lass wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024, 20:13 Why is CL constantly saying we’ve signed no one yet for 2025.
All he as to say we have players in the pipe line.
Not lie to us.
Hope the lad goes well, looks a good size, don’t know anything about him.
He did say we was speaking to players to sign for next year, you seem to have an axe to grind with CL comments. He's hardly guna say year we've signed a few but i cant tell ya yet is he?
Prefer him to stay stum, makes you look stupid saying we’ve signed no one for 2025, then a week or 2 later, bobs you uncle.
Like I said he could easily said we have players in the pipe line.
You really think 2/3 weeks ago he didn’t know anything about cini.
It’s been on the forum for a few weeks.
Any how all in the past now.
Hope he goes well.

I’ve listened to today’s interview and he said we are talking to agents, but so are other clubs.
So let’s see what materialises in the next month or 2.

Yeah he’s a second rate Aussie but many a time that’s proven to be good enough for super league due to our standard. Hope he goes well

What exactly makes him second rate?EvaTiger78 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 08:48 Yeah he’s a second rate Aussie but many a time that’s proven to be good enough for super league due to our standard. Hope he goes well
You do realise the standard of the SL comp is marginally above the NSW cup?
To play regularly in the NRL you have to be the best of the best of the best, and anyone who has played a few first grade games and has dropped back down in to the NSW is no way second rate. If that were true then every SL player is second rate.
Liam Horne was one of the "second rate" players we signed from Oz too and hes turned out to be the find of the last 5 seasons...

Re: Cini Signed
Yep and we’ve had a few supposedly first rate ones who haven’t cut the mustard at all e.g. Rudder and Feki and others who haven’t been as good as we hoped e.g. Lindner and Sherwin. We’ve done better with ‘ bad boys’ like Chase and Manu plus ones who weren’t cutting the mustard over there for whatever reason like Vowles and Millington. I’m sure that others can give dozens more examples, but it’s clear to me that shopping in the Aussie jobs market is a lottery at any level and whatever reputation individuals have.EvaTiger78 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 08:48 Yeah he’s a second rate Aussie but many a time that’s proven to be good enough for super league due to our standard. Re: Cini Signed
for me young is the way to go too many come over for their last pay day
Re: Cini Signed
off course he's second rate, he has spent the last 3 seasons playing in a reserve competition. By definition he is second rate, it's no insult but a statement of fact. Completely agree that the standard of Sooper Dooper League isn't much better than that of their NSW Cup but that isn't the point, he may well become a 1st rate player over here but he'll still be a 2nd rater in Australia, he had a good go and didnt make it hence his move to Cas.TheMotleyFox wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 09:53What exactly makes him second rate?EvaTiger78 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 08:48 Yeah he’s a second rate Aussie but many a time that’s proven to be good enough for super league due to our standard. Re: Cini Signed
I disagree, calling them 2nd rate is cup half empty attitude, which 99% of people on here have.alftupper wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 10:57off course he's second rate, he has spent the last 3 seasons playing in a reserve competition. Re: Cini Signed
Do we need prospects
We need players hitting the ground running.
We’ve had prospects with
Hindmarsh
Putt
Charbel
Nami to an extent.
Only Horne comes out with flying colours imo.
Oh el Zakhem is decent

Re: Cini Signed
No one is knocking Cini and I'm sure everyone wants him to go well next season, he just isn't the caliber of signing that shouts out that Cas are confident of being a SL side next season.

Just read that.
Doesn’t give much of a glowing report on him.
Hope he proves them wrong.
Pray he’s not another chase Blair.
