Re: IMG in or out
I didn’t know that we hadn’t signed anyone. Thought that we may have deals done but not announced. So is that definitely not the case?

There can’t be much between our teams IMG points wise. Bradford, York, Toulouse or London surely can’t leapfrog you/or us for SL next season. Even Wakefield have recruited with a business plan including Leigh both are similar to us points wise with img
The decision to hold back will put us even further back than we are and it's a poor business plan.

I have it on good authority, that someone inside the club that we all probably don’t particularly like, has gone. Will be big news IF it is 100% true.

Re: IMG in or out
Let’s be honest; we’ve been. Bit of a basket case club for a couple of years.
Here’s my two Penneth for what it’s worth:
1. We didn’t invest in the academy under DP & the repercussions were that talented local juniors went elsewhere. The general lack of interest from the club really tarnished the clubs reputation at local amateur clubs too.
2. Hindsight I know, but the amount of money wasted on Joe Wardle, Danny Richardson & Zac Hardacre must’ve been like a torpedo to the finances.
3. The axis of IF & MG has been terribly substandard - from the outside looking in; it appears that IF had zero interest in progressing the club & that MG didn’t have the ability to progress the club.
4. The extended player deals under LR really set the club back; tying the hands
5. IMG - like it or not this has forced the clubs hand to invest in the stadium/facilities. Again, this will have come at a considerable cost - in terms of £’s & time/focus.
6. The submission of our IMG preliminary score was catastrophic. It caused potentially club ending lack of confidence in the people running the club as well as the brand. It gave free ammunition to anyone & everyone to have zero faith in us moving forward. I also think that the RFL’s initial response & ultimate refusal to amend our score was indicative, to me at least, that they wanted us gone & this was the opportunity they’d been looking for. What they didn’t bargain on was MJ coming in & dragging the club up to standard.
We have to hope that MJ can attract other investors, put a team together that can really propel us forward & that Axiom transfer the money in the next 12 months or I fear we’ll be in a similar position.
All we can do is turn up, buy the merchandise & support the club. Fingers crossed.

Re: IMG in or out
I agree with a lot of that Steady . It’s a good post. The bit that grates a bit is the idea that the RFL ‘wanted us gone’. We have just come out of possibly the most successful decade in the club’s history including three major finals ( the last one only three years ago) and a top of the league finish. Despite all the digs at our stadium we were filling it to around 80% still this season.steadygetyerboots-on wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024, 12:11 Let’s be honest; we’ve been. In the meantime perennial bottom feeders like Wakefield, Leigh and Salford get lucky breaks with sugar daddies who may or may not last and they’re happy to discard the 7th most successful
Club in SL history on the back of a couple of bad seasons and sod their fans because they haven’t got cockney or geordie or French accents. Lovely
Re: IMG in or out
if Mr Gratten walked by me in the street i would not know the man. there seems to be a number of fans that want him out have they had personel dealings with him ??
Re: IMG in or out
Read the post by Heritage again, don’t think he was talking about Gratton.

I’m thinking it’s Mr. Ian Fulton who’s left the club.
