lets hope so, be good to have two decent 2nd rowers againMrRugby123 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2024, 11:15They’ve indicated in the last few weeks that we will be targeting a back rower. This will be to compliment Mellor.

Watts
Westerman
Griffin
Mustapha
Lawler
I’m more or less certain we’ll be scouring the market in weeks 1-8 for props and that that is the plan for props.

Re: New signing, retention?
On another thread, you posted that we were looking by week 4. Do you know anything that has indicated the switch to our search being up to week 8?
I think DM and MJ have said that we are looking at back row options, not props. Does this mean we are going forward with Watts, Westy, Mustapha, Medvejev, Hall, Griffin, Namo?

Been told Mags is happy with his options at prop. Not sure I agree with him, but apparently not in the market for another.

I struggle to believe that because if he is he's already made his first mistake.AllertonBTiger wrote: ↑29 Nov 2024, 17:39Been told Mags is happy with his options at prop. Not sure I agree with him, but apparently not in the market for another.

Re: New signing, retention?
It bugs me how people read a little bit from an interview and build a whole theory around it. An interview Jepsen did on the podcast, he was clear that the rest of the recruitment will be focused on front and back row. He said he is happy with the back line. If you’re looking in the news today that are reports that we are trying to lineup a deal for a PNG prop forward. If you look at the players we signed within the season last year some of them turned out to be excellent finds.

Jeremiah is a 2nd row if you’re referring to him

Re: New signing, retention?
Is it just me who is wondering what is the point of our Manly “partnership”?
We desperately need a prop or 2nd row and instead of our “partner” coming up with a decent NRL prospect we (possibly)get yet another 2nd tier player.
Now we all hope that Simbekin turns out to be a hidden gem but our record with this type of signing is not good.
Maybe I misunderstand our relationship with Manly but I would have thought that this would have been the ideal opportunity to bring a decent forward in from our NRL partner?

Re: New signing, retention?
Confused me too what is the point of it and why would they be interested in cas has we are anyway.
Re: New signing, retention?
I think it's a pathway to the NRL in manly's favour, which brings us some money in and enables us to offer young players a clear path to the worlds best RL comp.

thats my thoughts, mate gives lads more incentive to join us, bring a young lad in from Manly he would take an overseas spot up
