New signing, retention?
Re: New signing, retention?
Namo is a liability id be trying get him out of his last year if I was Jepson.
Re: New signing, retention?
Namo if he can clean his game up will turn out to be a good signing certainly knows were the try line is ; scoring in the last two matches for PNG

Re: New signing, retention?
I agree @gateman. He’s not the tallest but is a solid 100+kg specimen who likes to hit hard in the tackle. If he can correct his technique, we could have a top player in our ranks
Re: New signing, retention?
I have mixed feelings about Namo. He can be a handful with the ball in hand and put a big shot on in defence but he is prone to a brain fade that is costly. However a lot of these come whilst under fatigue and it needs to be remembered that he came to us recovery from a serious injury and didn’t have any pre-season. It was also his first ever year in a top division. I’d like to see how he goes with a full pre-season in him before we bin him off.

Re: New signing, retention?
You know, some of these comments make me laugh. Namo had a strong game on the weekend and yes he got sin binned but his tackling is what we want. If you want to go down the silly route, we should let Horne go as well, he tried another tip tackle on the weekend and if he does that again this season he'll be sitting on his backside for a while. The new hooker looks class and will only get better, just need to have some forwards running off him.

Re: New signing, retention?
Is it just me who is Honestly disappointed so far since the jepson takeover. New coach and new voice we was promised, we end up with the assistant coach stepping up and a new assistant coach, hardly inspiring appointment to start his era. The been linked to players like Hudson. Again Hardly splashing the cash and improving anything as he has again promised us improvements on the pitch, just more of the same budget cutting signings we’ve been used too imo.
Re: New signing, retention?
I look at it like Hudson and Matveyev are 2 young props Maguire can develop hopefully
If we sign a starting prop and back rower I'd be happy enough

The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Don't agree with been disappointed with coaching set up or players signed so far. Maybe Hudson another cheap project I hope and maybe he will come good soon. And just give jepson more time with good prop signings. Overall not disappointed with nothing so far.Martiger wrote: ↑04 Nov 2024, 19:12 Is it just me who is Honestly disappointed so far since the jepson takeover. Don’t feel I have enough info to be disappointed. Positive or possibly negative ones are the only relevant indicators for me.

Maybe Jepson is going to surprise us by using the quota spot on Terrell May

If you know something tell us if not stop making up and alluding to false rumours. That’s what you would have said to me

So are all the other sides, the few more signings need to be quality to make us competitive. Sure McGuire wouldn't have taken the job without assurances on spending be cause if Cas finish bottom, which most will be predicting , his head coaching roles could be over pretty quickly.
Re: New signing, retention?
mate i said a couple more signings, true Zakhem was a good forward and will be missed Macca was unlucky last year and was hardly on the field , our new hooker looks a good replacement, Miller looked very active but his states told the story one try and hardly a try assist the cover for him looks an improvement, Cine the jury is our on him as he seems to be an all rounder,Wood was playing very well till getting an injury , the two young guns who played late in the season Windley and the young prop looked like they could cut the mustard, like a number of other clubs the club will be looking out for forwards we will have to wait and see who the club comes up with
