Re: Broadbent
if true hes good but not good enough, not big enough not robust enough not fast enough & that goes for the whole team, just not good enough
Re: Broadbent
I don't mind the lad but he is no centre or FB
Think he could be a good super league winger tho.
Lots of people will be rejecting deals we are heading for the championship the players know it so does Gratton etc.

Re: Broadbent
Don’t blame him.
Bet there’s a few who reject contract extensions.
The club is a shambles.
Ran by a couple of numpties.

Re: Broadbent
This club will soon be like Batley with only 1000 attending each week. The lies we keep being fed are disgusting. The club has completely gone

Re: Broadbent
Well we will find out soon enough whether it’s lies to keep us quiet while we get relegated or a new investor being up front and honest about what needs to be prioritised to save the club.
Very risky policy if it’s the first one although the second one isn’t straightforward either

Re: Broadbent
Other then Wakefield and maybe Salford cant see anyone wanting Broadbent.
Re: Broadbent
He’s an ok player but thats about it. Not big or powerful enough to be a top centre, decent running game yes but hasn’t got a good enough passing game for a modern fullback and doesn’t have any kind of kicking game at all so halfback is out. Not slow but hardly rapid either and his defence isn’t exactly reliable. On balance i’d keep him in the squad but he isn’t worth a significant upgrade in my view if thats what he’s after.

Think he fancies a bit of French sun. Either way, players come & go. I’ll still be Darn Lane, whoever’s playing.

If he doesn’t wanna play for us, see ya.

I agree but they’re better than the ones who want to stay but not play.old cas lass wrote: ↑06 Apr 2024, 15:48 If he doesn’t wanna play for us, see ya.

Re: Broadbent
Broady is the type of player we need to be keeping at the club, however I can see that we will have difficulty retaining those players who are attractive to other clubs as we won’t know until October if we are in Super League next year, so can understand in demand players signing for new clubs from 1st May onwards, as if they wait until October to decide them they may be without a contract as the other A rated clubs will have completed their recruitment by then.
Any that resign with us will have to be tempted by a lucrative contract to take the gamble.
This in my view is a major flaw of the IMG grading system, as it favours the bigger A rated clubs early recruitment and is a major disadvantage for the lower & less well resourced clubs, and just continues the widening of the divide.

Re: Broadbent
Why does lingard keep saying (twice in interviews) he’s said we are bringing 2/3 marquee players in.
Now he’s either pulling the wool over the fans eyes, or he, the club, know we will be in SL next year, one or the other.

Fans don’t need to see marquee players. Just good ones will be okay

Re: Broadbent
These are not marquee players, what he said was three experienced players for the next two years. We don’t spend up to the cap anyway so wouldn’t need to use the marquee ruling.
