Re: Stadium.
Suspect it will depend on how the national economy is doing in two years and possibly how much progress has been made on mechanising distribution jobs

Re: Stadium.
Whatever the case Martin jepson thinks the refit will start sept 26 approx
Re: Stadium.
we seem to get people who have been told like always its better to sit back and wait and see what will unfold
Re: Stadium.
We’re very good at waiting for news. MJ said the earliest he could see it starting was sept 26 so we could be waiting even longer.
Re: Stadium.
Iwe won’t ever get the cash. just after hope Jepson brings in a wealthy partner and do it ourselves slowly.

Re: Stadium.
That sounds like a good option. I don’t necessarily think that we won’t ever get anything out of Glasshoughton , but it will need the economic conditions to be right and for all the ducks to line up, which can take a long time or fall into place overnight. With the amount of money that’s been spent , Axiom won’t want to walk away with nothing and didn’t Jepson say that the section 106 had just been signed?
Re: Stadium.
if junction 32 is dead, we will have to do something with the main stand before it falls down?
Re: Stadium.
some one puts a rumour about and the project is dead in the water when something is announced by Axiom or the club that is what i will believe

Re: Stadium.
I work for a large property development company who focus on industrial developments.
The general consensus is that until interest rates fall...new projects are basically on hold...in terms of construction.
The budget was not really a surprise to anyone and we just need the cost of borrowing to fall to make projects feasible again. However interests rates do appear to be on a downward trajectory...which is good for the economy as a whole

Re: Stadium.
It is not fit for purpose, the roof leaks, access steps are dodgy to say the least and the wooden seats are cramped and long past their sell by date.heritage1926 wrote: ↑01 Nov 2024, 09:21That main stand will be there for another 100 years. Nothing wrong with it structurally. Just an absolute eye sore now.
This was mentioned several times in the 'thrive not survive' supporting doccumentation as part of the planning application.
It also stated the ground was unsuitable and it was totally unfeasible for refurbishment and the only way forward was a new stadium.
Obviously the new stadium has bitten the dust.
We are left with a second choice and less financially viable option of part refurbishment while continuing to play at WR.
The stand is antiquated at best and dilapidated at worst.
In order for the club to compete, income must not only increase on match day's it must bring in revenue 365 days a year.
A new stand isn't all about spectstors. It is about hospitality, state of the art dressing rooms, - including medical and physiotherapy support - pre-match analysis and coaching areas. Proper modern day commercial offices. Food and beverage franchises and facilities. Modern stadia increase revenue on non-game days, so provision for training and other rooms need to be included.
