Todays results.

Post by old cas lass » 14 Aug 2022, 17:04

Wakey beat Wigan 30 12
Saints beat hull 60 6

Looks like wakey are safe, can’t see Toulouse making up 6 points.
Suppose saints did us a favour beating hull fc.

Well fifth and sixth looks like a three horse race now. Our points difference is a bit of a worry
The Saints and Wakey scores today put some perspective on our defeats to them which now don’t look so bad IMO

Toulouse are 4 behind Wakefield. Still can’t see them winning 2 games

Yeah your correct.
Toulouse have some very hard games coming up, be surprised if they win any.
Saying that I never expected wakey to beat Wigan.

Relegation is sorted now, Toulouse are gone. Hull are a mess, they aren’t getting in the play offs and Hull KR have hardly any players available. Salford are the worry for us.

Both Leeds and Salford can still knock us out the top 6.
It’s in our own hands.

Id say thats toulouse relegated now, cant see them getting 2 more wins. Some strange games at wakey since they went bottom of league, convincingly beating us and wigan and narrowly losing to sts. Im sure the toulouse fans will be screaming conspiracy theories with toulouse also having a few bad ref decisions against them in last few weeks costing them games aswell.

Agreed. A heavy defeat of Salford at Catalans and a clear win by us v Huddersfield next week would go a long way towards getting us there. Cats need a win themselves. They aren’t safe yet

Can only see a Salford win.they are on a high.
Catalans look like they’ve ran out of steam.

A must win for us.
Hope we’ve got some fresh legs back.

The injuries they got at KR could be massive. I still think Salford will miss out.

I still think Cas will miss out similar to last year and will bottle the big games against Salford and final game at Leeds.

That’s my worry.
When it comes to the big important games, our mentality seems weak.
It’s like we have already lost before we walk on the field.

I think the Huddersfield game will show how strong we are mentally.
I feel we win this then we should definitely finish top 6.

That’s not the Cas I’ve been watching this season. They’ve had a few bad games like every Superleague team including Saints and fewer than everyone after our first 5 games
I don’t expect us to fold

Me neither if you overlook those early games when the team were getting used to the new coach we've been as solid as anybody one or two poor performances but so as every other team in contention for the play offs

We are at the business end Tamworth, were every game counts.
Start and middle of the season a loss is no detriment.
As the saying goes, it’s not how you start it’s how you finish.
The next 5 games are critical if we have ambition to finish in the 6.
Lose against Hudds and Leeds and Salford win, we could be into panic rugby.
Let’s see how radford can mentally motivate them.
