Widdop, Miller, Richardson, O Brien and Mclelland seems overkill to me.
Widdop and Miller are only, currently, rumours. O’Brien isn’t a first choice starting half, he’s a utility. McClelland hasn’t played a competitive game for almost 12 months, doesn’t look like being ready till next season, is only young and has never been a first choice half in SL. So, as we stand at the moment, we have only one experienced first choice half contracted for next season in Richardson.

Miller has signed. So we definitely have 4. O Brien is s half back/Full back. Next season we will have 6 players who can play full back (7 if weve signed Widdop). Mclelland is still on the cap. If we have signed Widdop aswell that's overkill imo in terms of half back and full back cover.

Ideally we would free up O Brien or Mclelland to strengthen the props but unfortunately they are the only 2 that were contracted and couldnt be released at the end of the season.

That's my view anyway!

Where has it been announced that Miller has signed?

The prospect of Jacob Miller in black n Amber does not rock my boat, hes not, in the eyes of the Heath Common bin dippers, been the consistent creative half back they needed in his time at BV.
Go on the Wakey web site and see the consternation he causes, but the same could have been said when we did the swap of the year for McShane

You could say Richardson, Trueman, Mclellend O'brien n Hampshire (plus Turner possibly) was overkill but look how thats turned out.

Glad we extended contract,I believe he deserves it and will only get better. I would sign Hampshire again for another year

You could.

But imo our pack isnt going to be competitive next year. I dont think we can afford to 'prepare' in case of a freak concentration of injuries again and run with a substandard pack.

It's all about balance, it could be 5 long term injuries to front rowers next year.

That been said I'm glad weve resigned Richardson. The squad balance does concern me though. I' think ultimately the Mclelland signing potential looks a bad piece of business and, although not an option because hes contracted O Briens money could be better used.

We need to improve the pack or at least another good prop
I'm surprised if we're going with Richardson Widdop and Miller two of them would have done for me with the back ups we allready have

Personally i think Widdops best position is full back but would still have Evalds before him.

If Evalds is injured id like Widdop 1, Miller 6 n Richardson 7

Yes Widdop is better at full back for me also... I'd be starting Danny anyway his goal kicking and 40 20s are vital

like a lot more players at wire Widdop as not set the world on fire, the lad as been a good one but the amount of rugby he as had at the top may be catching up with him, had to that the lad as suffered a dislocated shoulder a number of times i am no too thrilled with this signing but time will tell

Richardson suffered rib Cartledge.
Had X-ray nothing broken.
God how they manage them kind of injuries in captain run.

Back to his normal standard along with Championship standard O’Brien.
Can’t wait to see Miller & Widdop next season

He didn’t have a pack to play behind. Watts, Matagi and Milner are where the blame lies.

Not sure I would name individuals, but there wasn't a lot of grunt to get behind, someone of that missing trio makes it tick.

I don’t like naming individuals either but I think it’s OK when Richardson is getting badmouthed for a situation caused by them
