Normanton have a good system running teams from a very young age, Wigan have been over and signed one of our young players who is outstanding at the age of 14 he as to go to Wigan Twice a week for training at the age of 16 he as to move over , come on Cas lets look to the future and offer these local lads what Wigan are tempting them with, but with no travelling and home comforts

Your rate Gateman, but at that age imo they should be only staying at home, so it should be a local club where they start off.

No club can sign every promising youngster so some escape the net.

Clubs like Wigan have the finances to cast their mates far and wide. They can take on 100 14 year olds and sieve through and keep the dozen or so who are good enough for a career in RL. We, fortunately, can not

When i was told about the young fella going to Wigan my first thoughts was i would not have encouraged any of my sons to tread this path big ask for parents to take him over for training then for him to leave home at 16 , Rocky Hampshire trod the same path now we are benefiting from his Wigan training
