Re: Mc shane
Just to keep this updated and I firmly believe last Saturday, Macca played himself out of the world cup. In my humble opinion, he was the worst 9 on the pitch.
I do worry that he's trying to find the magic with every play instead of just keeping the simple game plan that saw him become MoS.

Re: Mc shane
He’s got very lazy looks like he can’t be bothered running.
Re: Mc shane
well last night we watched our cup tie at Headingly earlier on this year & i would say he's put at least a stone in weight on & doesn't look half as fit as he was then???
Re: Mc shane
I’d drop home give captain’s armband to Westerman.
Re: Mc shane
Mc Shane as been great over recent years one of the best hookers we have had over recent years being man of steel is no mean feat the lad is getting older so that may be the reason for his drop in form Cain Robb ought to be spelling him these days
Re: Mc shane
Great only got him for another 5 years then.
Re: Mc shane
I believe our current coach is having a negative effect on Macca.

Re: Mc shane
Well George Williams was half decent last Saturday and I put that down to the different coach.
I think many share the view he's not the same this year but Macca isn't a poor player or weak minded. He certainly had the opportunity to show Radders how he can, and perhaps should play.
C'mon Paul, we know you can do it...
Re: Mc shane
Macca as been round the block long enough to play whats in front of him i do not believe any coach would want to coach that out of him

Re: Mc shane
think hes battling an injury and just getting through game to game. He looked in bits after the Toulouse game and was often in Back play struggling

Re: Mc shane
I read an article by him recently where he said pre season had been disrupted and he had taken a bit longer than he thought to get used to the captain’s role but that he was expecting a better 2nd half of the season and to be pushing for that international spot
Re: Mc shane
well he didn't do himself any favours against the "all nationalities team" or what ever it was, he just looked unfit & if hes carrying an injury why would he have put his hand up to play?Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 12:24 I read an article by him recently where he said pre season had been disrupted and he had taken a bit longer than he thought to get used to the captain’s role but that he was expecting a better 2nd half of the season and to be pushing for that international spot

Re: Mc shane
If he is carrying an injury, I’d far soon let him recover from it fully than be a passenger on the field.
An unfit Macca is no good to us, we have Milner and robb as reserves.

Re: Mc shane
Spot on...even Mr Wane commented that he needs to do a lot better that's been the case for quite a while with him if he's been playing injured all that time fair enough that would explain thingsold cas lass wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 14:08 If he is carrying an injury, I’d far soon let him recover from it fully than be a passenger on the field.

Re: Mc shane
Maybe the burden of being captain is taking it's toll. A lot of pressure to skipper a team as well as perform like one every week.
He probably is playing injured, but then again, so are most other players in our squad and Super League as a whole. Would think a large majority are getting jabbed up weekly to get through games.

Re: Mc shane
Bang on OCL. Also, I have a feeling that the armband is weighing a little heavy on him - maybe give it Westerman and let Macca get back fit and back to what he does best?old cas lass wrote: ↑23 Jun 2022, 14:08 If he is carrying an injury, I’d far soon let him recover from it fully than be a passenger on the field.

Re: Mc shane
I can’t get my head around being captain is weighing heavy on Macca.
What does a captain do.
Participate in the coin toss.
Lift a trophy (highly unlikely)
Maybe give more interviews than normal.
Have more input in team meetings.
Anything else.
