With watts back should have a decent team out.
So, what you are saying is, without Watts we are not decent ???

Don't make me laugh, he isn't the player he has been on recent performances and only looks slightly better than Griffin and Smith I will grant you, but let's be honest here, Smith and Griffin are bang average and not SL material whatsoever and until these positions are addressed for next season, I'm afraid we will continue to struggle in mid to low of SL table. Watts needs to up his game (i'm still remembering the impression of a turnstile he performed to let a try in this season !!). Also, Matagi is not performing at all as an impact play he was supposed to be in punching through defence lines - He's become paperweight and no wonder Huddersfield were pleased to offload as they must have been aware also !!

Sorry to say this but at the present time Cas need to get shut of a load of deadwood and start again and this does not just mean forwards either ! At least there is some movement with a couple of signings that may create some improvement but still a very long way to go !

What I was meaning is, no major player is banned from the Salford game.
Ie Milner could have copped a ban for his gobbing off.

I agree we have lots of deadwood, think you’ve named a couple.
But that deadwood is part of our 17.
Who else is there to put in in place of them.
Our forwards are lightweight.
Have been for a couple of years.
Need watts, Milner, Massey all to put their back into games.
Westerman dropped off last few games.
Lawler same.
Even Macca looks disinterested.
Is it the coach or the players can’t be bothered.

If we're looking at next season and challenging or even staying 9th or better the blanks need filling in
Evalds
QuareQuare
-
-
Eden or Mamo or ...Feki
-
-
Watts
Mcshane
-
Kenny Edwards
Lawler
Westerman

Forgot Lawler from my original team I'd be happy with him at number 12

You have to look at what is becoming very obvious.

Massey has been with the club for a number of years as has Mcshane and Milner. They have been stalwarts and would never take anything away from their past performances, however, there is definitely an air of staleness starting to emanate and whether it's down to complacency being in the regular setup or bones starting to creak with the miles of SL on their body's is up for debate but there is definitely some players not performing as to what the fanbase is and are expecting !! Even the return of and performance of Westerman is starting to look a little worn out !! Compare that to the likes of Wigan and Saints who have a number of young forwards banging their stuff relentlessly against opposition and especially at the older spectrum end of SL forwards which I class as Cas having as pointed out, then, like I said on my first sentence, is the writing on the wall ??

I think Lawler is and has added and hopefully new signings might just freshen things up when they do emerge into the team and add more umph in times to come, but I perceive we are now looking to be a spent force at the moment and I for one hope that this is really not the case and hope the team can prove me wrong in next few games - Godwilling !!!

DP was one for bringing tried and tested at the expense of younger players he is doing the same at Warrington just signed two players who are knocking on in years from Catalan our coach says he is going to address the age problem let us wait and see

Should be a great crowd and spectacle for the C4 cameras

Good kick off time too with the Football having finished

Hopefully it’s decent weather and the club can get people through the gates early and capitalise at the bars before the game - Then put in a big performance and keep them in after the match too.

As much as it pains me to say it macca is a shadow of himself usually he would be top three every week so far this season he’s been a bang average 9 and has often been outplayed by the oppositions 9 something doesn’t seem right I think Milner has looked better and given us more in his stints at 9 think as a whole we look a very steady team no real energy and good lines run or playing what’s in front of us we don’t seem to ask that many questions imo. We’ve been steady but need to really show a lot more to be in the 6 at the end of the year.

I'm surprised at Maccas form world cup year he's had 2 or 3 games were he's played like we know he can like you say rest of time he's been average
Sure Wane would have Mcilorum as his 9 if he was picking his team today

May be down to the dynamics of him and Westerman playing together.

I’m not sure Macca isn’t carrying an injury and plying through it like he did a couple of seasons back

Hope not. Still feel he has half an eye on trying to cover half back responsibilities too

Another factor could be we don't have forwards that scatter defenders Wattsy when he's playing but after that very little
You look at Daz Clark he's looked a shadow of the player he was again the Warrington forwards couldn't punch there way out of a paper bag generally speaking ...you watch how he will improve with Sam Kasiano Mikaele Dudson to a lesser degree knocking defenders out of the way

Problem with our forwards we walk into the opposition defence, instead of running full pelt like warmsley does.
We are just to lightweight.

Too many unforced errors and penalties conceded will always result in you tiring yourself out defending. Our poor games have seen the errors and too much defending which is probably why Macca seems a shadow of his former self.

Yes you are right and Smith/Griffin are the worst offenders and are stealing a wage in my opinion ! - in fact I think they would be better being contracted to being on that Haribo advert where sportsmen speak in kids voices !!! That's how bad they are !! :D :D

The other aspect is the attack line is always way too flat to get a bit of attack speed going forward - they need to stand deeper !! This is so obvious to me and can't understand why the coaching staff aren't addressing this !!

Instead of running full pelt into challenges we have many forwards who slow down and try and do a little step... very rarely works. Would much rather see us run as hard as we can to try get on the front foot.

Correct swagger.
Forwards are there IMO to bust holes into the defensive line, scatter a few and get a quick play the ball.
We trundle into the defence and fall to the ground.
Wish we could have got Amor for the rest of the season.

In terms of this game, I have some limited confidence in that Wigan have the adrenaline fueled distraction of this weekend.

That being said, it is a good week of rest for them.

double digit win either way, can't see a nail-bighter.
