He didn't end up playing FB as Richardson pulled out before ko. He played at half and a young lad brought in at full back.

Problem at Academy level is that there are too few 2nd years as lots of them dropped out, so comparing us with Hull for example, who have a majority of 2nd years playing, is a bit unfair. Problem with Reserves at the moment is there are a few injuries, but it's also disjointed. So tonight, there was the kid from Whitehaven that we bought and loaned back, a hooker from Keighley, a prop from Midland Hurricanes. Cain Robb played 80 on Sat and turned around and played tonight. 4 1st year academy lads filling in the gaps, and Danny Richardson pulling out in the warm up. Playing against a well organised, mainly full time team in Wigan. Yes they got hammered, but some of the daft comments on here are frustrating to say the least.
There is no way you can defend losing 100-0.

The RFL won't look at it like that when they're handing their elite status' out to reserves and academies. We'll never get one if we're being tonked weekly.

Not defending it completely, just letting people know there is more to a story than the headline. The club simply does not have enough reserve players of its own to field a full side. Hopefully this was a one off, the rest of the reserve games have been pretty close so far, but the personnel vary wildly from game to game.

Maybe we should ask to play at a lower standard level like embarissinly the Women's team had to do
Least Wigan had the good grace to declare when they reached the ton

I thought things might have moved on since the seventies, clearly not. There were times then when we put out a fairly useful "A" team and others when last minute phone calls were being made to try and cobble a team together, most of the latter ended up as defeats but in my memory we never suffered an embarrassment like last night.

Good luck to all our "reserves" out on loan this weekend - possibly 7

Feki (Sheffield), Robb (Whitehaven), Hall (London), Sutcliffe/Collins/Martin/Junior Vasu (Midlands)
