[No Source] Tony Smith
It is absolutely crystal clear to me that if Tony was to remain in coaching he would be perfect for Cas, and cas would be perfect for him.
I don't know everything about rl but I do know Lee Radford isn't the man to lead us to happy and exciting times.
If there was any chance that this could be made to happen, it would be fantastic for us.

I’m happy with Radford playing some good rugby now with him.

The general view on this seems to change with every game. Not suggesting you as an individual but the general consensus amongst Cas fans.

Re: [No Source] Tony Smith
The only game I can think were we played well is the wakefield game.
The others that we won, we more or less scrapped by.
So even though we have had wins, they’ve not been convincing.
Imo I’m not liking the way we play, to much still down the middle.
Once we did start moving it, we look more fluent.
So jury is still out with me about radford.

I hope to be proved wrong but I’ve never thought LR to be the right coach for us.
We may have been spoiled by our 2017 team but I really can’t see us getting back to anywhere near that standard of free-flowing rugby with his (lack of) style.
The proof of the pudding will be next season when hopefully he will have his own team, that (please God) includes an experienced Aussie half back to play alongside Trueman and he has replaced the likes of Blair, Fonua and Clare with far better players.
If Richardson and Feki go too, he will have the opportunity to get at least 5 players of his own choosing.
After a few games of next season if we still look like a team of misfits then we should get rid of LR and get someone like Tony Smith in.

Straight swap. Lee is a massive Hull KR fan.
Re: [No Source] Tony Smith
You'd get rid of Fonua? I think he's been one of our better players for the last few games. Him and Edwards down that left edge have been awesome (no pun intended )orrsome wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 15:40 I hope to be proved wrong but I’ve never thought LR to be the right coach for us.

Yes. I don’t think Fonua is a centre and he’s too slow to be a winger.Captain wrote: ↑23 Apr 2022, 19:20You'd get rid of Fonua? I think he's been one of our better players for the last few games. Cod heads had his best years.
We need to sign a proper centre to replace Fonua if we are to compete as a top team.

Add to that his footwork is truly awful. He gets done inside & out at centre because his positioning is wrong & can’t react fast enough to save the situation.orrsome wrote: ↑23 Apr 2022, 22:16Yes. I get that people enjoy watching a barrel chested player running in hard & straight but if you want to challenge for trophies then you need more than just that in my opinion.

That try he got wasn’t hard and straight. At least three sidesteps. It was a great try

Sorry Fumper. My bad
Re: [No Source] Tony Smith
Fact is, he’s not a centre.
Re: [No Source] Tony Smith
Really? The 2016 SL Dream Team says otherwise.
