4th the aim

Post by Cas Cohen » 15 Apr 2022, 09:33

Getting carried away... there is only Saints, Wigan and Catalans who are clearly ahead of us - the rest of SL is wide open. Playoffs the clear aim but if we can click like last night and go on a run, I think we can finish as high as 4th this season? 8-)

Yeh I think you are getting a little carried away hahaha. Who knows though..... as you say Saints, Catalan and Wigan are the best 3 but then I think anyone can beat each other.

Our issue is the consistency. We can play well in 1 game but then in the next game we are a bottom of the table team again.

If we beat Leeds we will be in and around that 6th spot but then we play Saints and Catalan so could easily drop straight back to 10th its that tight.

Spot on @Swagger I think the league is that tight that one good run in the season of 5 or 6 games might be enough because as you say everyone is beating everyone. Blind optimism has taken over me after last night but I think we'll beat Leeds, Saints is tough but it's a good time to play Catalan. I think Hull KR and Hudds may be distracted by their cup runs, I expect Warrington to improve but I honestly feel this would be a good time to go on a run. Here's hoping

Catalan looked pretty ordinary last night though, Tom Grant did a bit of Leeds video reffing on the second disallowed Toulouse try in my opinion

thats us jinxed for our visit over there

4th is a bit too optimistic, but beat Leeds on Monday and that's us safe IMO. We can only go upwards, surely?!

Saints, Catalan, Wigan, Warrington and Huddersfield are the likely top 5 this season. Us, FC and KR are then the contenders for 6th. Could see us finishing in 7th/8th.

I think Catalan have been ordinary all season - but their home form gets them top 3 I think

7th/8th is a bit too realistic @heritage1926  see I still have Hull KR ahead of Huddersfield, Giants just had the better start. Guess we'll see in cup semi. I expect Hudds to drop off, especially looking at that Leeds team thy failed to beat last night. I think it's Saints, Catalan, Wigan.. then Wire if they pick up.. then the rest.

Despite everything, we’re only one win outside of the top five

Also mate...... our points difference is better than both Hull KR and Warrington. So if them 2 lose this Monday and we win. We can easily jump above them. (HULL KR play Toulpuse though)

I think they could both lose although KR shouldn’t

What if we play like we did at Wakefield and our opponents play like London Skolars? That’s the beauty of our game, don’t you think?

Yes - that’s a fascinating fixture at Leeds on Friday now.

The SKY studio team were making a big thing of the Leeds situation during and after the game yesterday. They will make more noise on Friday if one of the RFL’s darlings lose.

Allez Toulouse…!!

I know but Saints were out on there feet at the end yesterday according to posts on there forum Easter is a killer
I'd expect Saints to win Friday but wouldn't be surprised if we ran them close and your right I wont be betting on the outcome

Hurrell banned? Knowles HIA? Dodd out for the year? They will be as tired if not more than we are. But they have the best squad in the comp - it is the poorest SL comp standard wise In my opinion this side of the millennium but Saints are just better the rest. However, because of the short turn round owt could happen.
