I think he was first choice winger for the new coach ( can’t remember if it was Woods or Millington) but he was injured so Wayne Pryce got back in the side and played a couple of blinders and Blanch was shipped out to Wakey, initially on loan?

Not by Cas but for those perfume modelling adverts he went on to do.
glad you posted that mate i could not think of his name shame he is not wearing a Cas shirt in the adverts
Don't think he's wearing any shirt !...I always liked him when he was down lane good luck to him

Honourable mention for Derek Foster,by his own admission he'd be way down the pecking order of Cas wingers, played centre as much if not more than he played on the wing due to the quality of wingers we had at the time but the kind of player I've a lot of time for, solid knew where the line was and ways put the team first. Would have rocked up in the second row if he'd been asked.

Damien blanch.
Thanks OCL that was one of them.
The other one was Adam Fletcher, but when I looked at his stats they weren’t sparkling!
Also Blanch hardly played at all! Funny how the memory plus tricks.
I think Blanch hit his straps when he went to Wakefield.
He went on to Catalans after Wakey and was even better.
His try scoring rate for Wakefield was actually better than at Catalan.

His stats prove a slightly better scoring rate for Trin, but IMO he was a better, more dangerous player for Les Cats. Just my opinion.

He looked a lot bigger when he played for Catalan versus when he just joined us!

Don't forget my grandad Harold Chapman, he was at Cas for 7 seasons. My mum said he left because he had an argument with the captain. The following year Cas won the cup final at Wembley. Slightly off topic, one winger that would have been good for Cas or any other rugby league team was David Duckham. He was my hero when I was a little boy, his talent was often wasted playing rugby union
