[Match Discussion] Leeds (A) cup

Post by heritage1926 » 22 Mar 2022, 10:50

Who's off then? strangely, I'm looking forward to it, love going to Headingly and the weathers going to be in the high teens. Makes for a good cup day. £15 ticket prices are spot on and fair play to Leeds.

Bought 2 tickets. going on 2pm train.

Not sure what to expect yet. Abit of luck with ref calls and we could be ok.

Thought he lent towards HKR when we played them but we just got to get on with it ...it would be nice to win but the next three games after this are vital I think we have to win all three certainly two out of three

Yep am going with my two sons and looking forward to it. Easiest ground to get to for me, virtually no travelling. Should be a good close cup tie and hopefully we can kick-start our season.

Niall Evalds, Adam Milner, Nathan Massey and Liam Watts all 'have a chance' of returning for Castleford on Saturday in the Challenge Cup against Leeds. Potentially a huge boost, probably strongest squad Lee Radford has had to pick from so far if they're all fit

However - there's one blow. Ryan Hampshire broke his hand in his first game for Castleford in the reserves last weekend. Looking at six to eight weeks out. Gutting for Hampshire, Lee Radford says he'd have definitely played this weekend too

Reading between the lines of that I'd say, Hampshire is very unlucky and of the others, none will play.

Heard Evalds will.
We’ll see.

That may well be in the realms of do or die in the cup. Risk any player for the cup may rule them out for longer for the league.

I was intrigued by the honesty of the Leeds U manager last Friday when asked about Kalvin Phillips - "he was never going to play!". Just picked him to fill a squad place nd to help boast players morale but knew it wasn't worth the risk playing him.

Looking forward to seeing the 21 tomorrow. I think we will see a good few young lads in there.

I'd go with that line up but I never correctly pick the team that actually plays...

Practically our strongest squad. If we can't turn Leeds over Saturday, then we're in some real trouble.
