I get the cost argument, but we will never get a better opportunity to get the pitch dimensions up to the required standard. For me; I wouldn’t give the RFL any opportunity to kick us with something so basic.

The pitch dimensions are already to “the required standards”.

Exactly. It’s just bellends like John Wilkin and Phil Clarke who, as terrible commentators, have nothing else to say, so start to bore everyone by reminding them of our pitch dimensions.

nothing wrong with the size and dimensions of the pitch according to the rfl jus the idiots on sky, What makes our pitch look smaller is that the terrace are down to the side of the pitch not like the modern stadium with a 20ft break from terraces to to the pitch side.

What makes it look smaller is that it is smaller than any other in the division. It is though within the guidelines so all is good.

Can we start a thread about bellends, and why bellends like John Wilkin in particular have got a thing about our club!!
I'll start by saying John Wilkin was/is the most overrated bellend to have ever played the game of RL and obviously something still haunts him about Cas or our ground or both!! 🤔

The current rules do allow a 100 yard length pitch and that is what Wheldon Road is. However, I believe there's a desire from the RFL/SL to have SL pitches that are 100m long to allow equal division in 10m sections.

This 'desire' could result in future rules changes that could then be used to prevent clubs with 'small' pitches being promoted to SL.

I really doesn't make much sense to me to redevelop WR and not extend the pitch but I know those that run our great club have always penny inched and as such, I can see them taking the decision to leave it as it is and risk future participation in SL.

For reference 10o yards is about 91.5m, a significant difference when you think about it.

Don’t know about penny pinching. I don’t think they really know how much they will be able to afford at this stage, but I suspect it won’t run to doing everything in the plan

All very quiet on how much the club will actually get. £10 million doesn’t go that far these days and is likely to be the minimum we would need to get all that is being suggested, particularly as it’s not a green field site

That will be the obvious question at the meeting how much are we likely to get on top of the 2 million

I’ve just noticed that on the list of “who” will be there on Thursday, there’s no one from the club named….
