The game a Hudds tday is a classic example of two coaches..
Watson who IS getting the best and more out of journey men players..
Trout, Robert's etc...
and
Radford who appears unable to motivate( call it what you like) from
a squad containing England members etc...
Roll on Easter when (fingers crossed the axe falleth )

18 -0 at halftime .
At one point in the 2nd half it was 18-26.
No motivation there then....
Dumb actions by dumb players cost us when we were in front.

This is the problem.
On paper you have to say that today we had a stronger squad than Hudds but the performance or scoreline didn't reflect that.
We are miles away from the top 4, an early cup exit and that's our season effectively over.
I look back at the success of 2017 and see nothing but a missed opportunity to build a side which can win trophies.
Sadly we have built a side who are unable to compete.

Don’t like the idea of fiddling around with coaches mid season.
The year we got rid of Steadman after 7, Mercer took over, brought Ellery Hanley in, followed by a whole load of panic buying and ending up with relegation was a disaster which no one needs repeating.

Lee as a decent squad some a bit long in the teeth Dp as left him with that not blooding young players, today one of our centres contributed to them scoring three trys a good centre needed ASP

Was a genuinely crap performance today, I mean Radders has copped the majority, but a lot of individual mistakes.

Dropped ball, failed offloads, without the individual mistakes it was a different game. Not worried about 10/11 bumbling along but we have to put 10 minutes together at a time, we seem to flit about from set to set of panic ball, push every pass and staying in the game.

Defensively we are far too easy to pull about, you can say coaching if you wish, but if players on their own can't count and make an assessment, then we have bigger issues.

I can't really see how a new coach can improve on what we have when the skill set isn't already there in a player.
I'm talking specifically about the half-backs.

As I have said before, its no good having explosive runners like Mamo and Evalds when we can't put them in a gap.
Powell managed ok with the same halfs.... the team on paper looks good.

Does Radford clap the fans after games?

Both games I’ve seen on sky he goes straight down the tunnel after a defeat

I thought our performance reeked of lack of confidence and desperate for a win, whereas Huddersfield played without the spectre of doom we appear to have.

Only a few games in and they will know that our fans moan and blame at the first opportunity (not all mind). They blame the coach, his staff but they didn't miss 7 tackles in the first game against Salford.

Our players have the skills and I don't think it's a coincidence that our best players have been the local lads. Westy, Smith, Eden. We have Massey and adz to come in aswell.

For me looking at our squad numbers named each week, that it's not 1-17 or even near. Then look at saints and wire. All but a 1-17. Makes a massive difference. Why no heat on our conditioning coaches? Last year it was nearly pitchforks running them out of town for our injury list.
.
Keep the faith. We don't have football millions to make wholesale changes and I don't think we need to. A competitive match against the pies and 2 wins after and it's all good again.

I agree Watson is getting a tune out of the giants but to quote Wikipedia after he was appointed head coach in 2020.

"In round 5 of the 2021 Super League season, Watson earned his first win as Huddersfield coach when they defeated Leeds 14–13.[17] In Watson's first year in charge, Huddersfield finished the 2021 Super League season in a disappointing 9th place on the table"

In perspective we are better off and next year Radford will be able to really show his stuff when he's got the players in her wants and he can get rid of they players he doesn't.
