England Train On Squad
England Train On Squad
Both Niall Evalds and Paul McShane keep their places in the England squad for the next get together
Re: England Train On Squad
Very surprised both have been garbage so far.

Don’t agree with all the comments there have been against Evalds. The team hasn’t gelled so far so he hasn’t looked great but he’s done his job

International selection is an interesting one. History is littered with players who looked outstanding in great club sides but were found wanting when selected for GB or England as they had to punch their own weight as opposed to being surrounded by solid club structures & genuinely class players.
I’d even put put Sinfield in that bracket. Cracking club man. Not international calibre.

Re: England Train On Squad
Another poor quality squad.
I give you the perennially injured Harry Newman. 22 years old and 36 appearances for Leeds in his career which started in 2017. (Details taken from Wikipedia)
He is neither young nor super League tested. But then no Jake Connor, who has won matches on his own and for his country.

I'm just grateful I don't have to pick a squad from the player pool available to England/GB.
Re: England Train On Squad
No Connor???
Why isn't Litten in there?

Re: England Train On Squad
He seems to be reveling in the prop role with some big carries down the middle and a solid defence. Could he be following the route of Morley and Peacock going from back row to front and excelling?

His last year with us gained him the nickname Princess and now he's playing prop. How his game has changed.FIat Capper wrote: ↑07 Mar 2022, 13:28He seems to be reveling in the prop role with some big carries down the middle and a solid defence. He never wanted to work inside and his strength was running at centres and wingers. Maybe it will suit his style and age more.FIat Capper wrote: ↑07 Mar 2022, 14:28Has a 'good' coach brought about that change or was he just disinterested during his last season with us?
