what annoyed me is Fanua was clearly tackled & he tried to do a quick play the ball & we get penalised because the ref hadn't shouted held, really?

I hate that rule. What rule has the player actually broken when he does that? He hasn’t knocked on, just “kicked” the ball backwards, therefore should be play on.

His ball carrying arm never hit the floor which is why the ref called no tackle. Watch the tv coverage as its plain to see.

when you consider the fact that had he played on but the ref had called held, he would have simply been told to play the ball. Only when you needlessly play the ball is it a pen so my advice would be to always play on.

They may need to rethink this and provide rules with some leniency but as it stands, use the rules.

that's the one word that doesn't appear to apply to us "leniency" and its rare we get that from a ref hence the 6 x 6 agains, but im just biased

I always thought the ref said go back and play the ball in that circumstance not give a penalty

They do if the player plays on after 'held' is called but not when the players play the ball before held is called. Bit of inconsistency but this is RL.

I was a bit unsure when we appointed him but best thing we've done for a while the improvement in Danny Richardson especially in defence is there for all to see and he's not only one his signings have been good as well and he's got a good sprit in the team now

Let’s get the season going before criticising the manager and calling for his head.

Ill be honest, Im still not sure on Radford, hes a good bloke and is getting the team performing to a level!

Im just not a big fan of the style of rugby we are playing this year and until we sort out the discipline, we wont win any trophies.

Take it you didn't see the rubbish under Powell in the last two years.

I did indeed, I wasn't a big fan of that. Maybe its the way the game is going with the wrestle or having 10 players who are all the same size on each team rather than defined backs and forwards but it just doesn't excite me.

I'm not saying I don't appreciate what LR is doing, he had a difficult act to follow, I just dont get excited as much to watch us play anymore. I will always support the club and the players, its in my blood but Ive never been a big fan of the Bradford / Hull style of play which we have migrated towards under LR. Its stifling certain players IMO.
