SuperLeague Predictions

Post by Swagger » 25 Jan 2022, 23:59

Was just looking through TotalRL forum.... dont think any fan from another club has us finishing above 8th or 9th. Alot of them saying we are going to struggle bad..... A lot dont think Radfords way of coaching will help us at all.

What does everyone think looking at all the teams?

1. Catalan
2. Saints
3. Wire

A gap

4. Leeds
5. Wigan
6. Cas
7. Hull KR
8. Huddersfield
9. Hull

A gap

10. Salford
11. Wakey
12. Toulouse

That middle batch could go anyway for me. All look pretty close. Luck with injuries etc...

This. Our squad depth will help us this season. A few other squads are very shallow

Injury free we can compete with saints and I think they've signed well and haven't lost much.

Catalans hard to beat away and that'll again help them.

Wigan always near the top but can implode at any time.

Wire, anything or nothing.

I would say we get top 4.

Wakey in real trouble especially if Toulouse win their majority at home. Though Toulouse and Salford look pretty weak on paper. Toulouse for the drop because of the problem with their unvaccinated.

Dont get the love in with the Goons- forwards are poor- backs resonable
We have opinions about our half backs but they are on a par if not better than Wigans.....5th for me

We have quality in every position and then quality to back up. I could see us finishing anywhere in the top 4. We're fast and powerful in the backs and mobile in the forwards, with the best hooker in the league in the middle. Half backs need to step up this season, but we now have GOB and McLelland as back up to put pressure on anyone under performing.

I look at Leeds, Catalan and Warrington's first 13-17 and they look good on paper, after that, they don't seem to have much depth.

That Wigan team looks one of their worst for a very long time, but they always manage to bring in young lads who seem to do a job for them, when called upon. I don't expect much from them this year, they were lucky with the % last season to sneak in the play offs.

Saints have arguably the best starting 1-17 in the league and always bring through young players every year who seemingly ease their way in to the team like they've been playing for years.

Hull FC will under perform again, I could see Brett Hodgson being the first casualty of the season if they start slow. Huddersfield seem to have signed well, but not as good as the teams above them and KR's season last season was helped massively by the win %

get as big squad depth you want but when in wrong positions don't help much we stacked up we wingers. Cover in half backs and forwards is a big worry

Bentley is good but he's a short temper and gets a few injuries. With sticks ban, hero be looking at 10 matches our per session minimum. They've also got no cover in the halves.

We have 4 half backs that have played super League, not many teams can say that. We also have lots of forwards and some very mobile ones.

And which other teams have this strength in depth? I'm struggling to find one team which is perfection and can take losing 4 props or 2 hookers or 2 half backs.

We have 4 half back options, more than any other club in the league. Take every clubs current 6 and 7 out of the team and they'd have to play players we've probably never heard of. Take ours out and you could put GOB and McLelland in, who both have SL experience.

In terms of forwards, if you think Watts, Matagi, Massey, Smith, Griffin, Edwards, Lawler, Sutcliffe, Westerman, Milner, Hepi, Blair, Martin, Hall isn't enough cover, then you have some very unrealistic ambitions. Nearly everyone on that list gets into most SL starting teams and benches.
