Tigers head to Newcastle
Re: Tigers head to Newcastle
The most surprising thing I've learnt from that article is it may take a whole 3 weeks to learn how to 'scrummage' again and it's going to take a trip up the A1 to remember how to put your arm around your adjacent forward bend slightly at the waist yet still maintaining an almost upright profile, lean into your opposite number for the briefest of moments then disband and continue the game.

Radders leaving nothing to chance, I would imagine it's going to include moves from scrums too, the chance to tie 6 opponents up when putting on a move is something players have to practice to make perfect, especially as we have so many new faces involved.

DP had lots of scrum moves and we looked real slick. 2 years on we need to learn again.

It used to be at scrums it was only the backs out of the scrum so hence would promote fast open play from them. Unfortunately over the years it seems the closest six to the mark pack down so doesn't have the same impact.

I'm just grateful we don't have RU scrums that take hours to only end up with a penalty being awarded.

Cant see any problem with another training game, there will be moves to try out and positioning to adjust. could be fantastic for us with the pace we have in the centres now.

Exactly. Rather have this “training” game than to go into Week one undercookedthe changeling wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 02:46 Cant see any problem with another training game, there will be moves to try out and positioning to adjust. could be fantastic for us with the pace we have in the centres now.

Yes, I'd almost forgotten about the winger at hooker and centre as second row in the scrum, the overloads on one side, the lack of any players on the offside. That sort of crazy stuff.
Scrums suited us back then and our backs now can really make some yards.

I can't remember what I had for lunch never mind 2017, but I'll give it a watch back. Still kept a few on my sky.
