Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
It's headline is "Catalan & Toulouse away" not who can and can't play because of the choice they've made. Maybe flights, hotels, tickets etc. We've got a new season starting very shortly, so can we stop having covid come into every thread plz
Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
So, let me make sure I’ve got this right…we can talk about everything to do with “Catalan & Toulouse away” apart from the players that may not be able to travel and represent our club?

Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
The whole thread is about the implications of rules around unvaccinated players, so it’s very relevant. As it stands, unvaccinated players are following different rules to vaccinated players, so discussion around the permutations of this are obviously relevant to the club and the wider game.Tigers1926 wrote: ↑18 Jan 2022, 20:28 Plz take the vax and covid talk somewhere relevant. It's up to the individuals themselves, that's why we are individuals and NOT sheep.

No, the thread title is "Catalan & Toulouse away" not about who can and can't play due to their choices. We have a few games before Catalans and Toulouse away so let's deal with it when the squads are selected for said fixtures.

Did you not read the opening post for the thread?heritage1926 wrote: ↑17 Jan 2022, 11:47 #BREAKING All athletes who wish to compete in France will have to be vaccinated against Covid-19, government sources tell AFP #AFPSports - https://twitter.com/AFP/status/1483008889285140480
Could throw a spanner in the works for a couple of our unvaccinated players. We play both of them away in the space of a month.

I don't care about people's choices, but one thing Carter says is completely agreeable to me - make the rules consistent for the season.
If you can't travel unvaccinated to France, then we adopt that for the season, regardless of restrictions changing. Exactly as the 48-0 rule, if it exists, then it stays for the season, no changes part way through.
By pegging the rules now it is even for all for the duration.

You want the RFL to keep the rules fairly and for the season? you may as well ask Santa for a pink unicorn.mdean wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 09:43 I don't care about people's choices, but one thing Carter says is completely agreeable to me - make the rules consistent for the season.

The rules will be relaxed when the usual suspects are due to travel.

Whilst there is always that suspicion, it will be the French who make the decision as to when the rule is relaxed.the changeling wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 10:31You want the RFL to keep the rules fairly and for the season? you may as well ask Santa for a pink unicorn.mdean wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 09:43 I don't care about people's choices, but one thing Carter says is completely agreeable to me - make the rules consistent for the season.

Indeed, the French set their national rules, but the RFL/SL are responsible for a sporting competition, I would personally prefer them to set-up for the parameters we have ad be consistent for the integrity of it.orrsome wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:04Whilst there is always that suspicion, it will be the French who make the decision as to when the rule is relaxed.the changeling wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 10:31You want the RFL to keep the rules fairly and for the season? you may as well ask Santa for a pink unicorn.mdean wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 09:43 I don't care about people's choices, but one thing Carter says is completely agreeable to me - make the rules consistent for the season.

Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
I remember when Blake Solly said the RFL wants a level playng field (it became a long standing joke), to achieve that, the rule on day one of the season should be the rule on grand final day.orrsome wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 11:04Whilst there is always that suspicion, it will be the French who make the decision as to when the rule is relaxed.the changeling wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 10:31You want the RFL to keep the rules fairly and for the season? you may as well ask Santa for a pink unicorn.mdean wrote: ↑19 Jan 2022, 09:43 I don't care about people's choices, but one thing Carter says is completely agreeable to me - make the rules consistent for the season.

If the rule is that players have to be vaxxed on day one, the RFL should keep that rule all season, i suspect the level playing field will tilt one way or the other as usual.

Anyway when all said and done I'm ready for kick off. Vax or no Vax I'm sick to death of hearing it. Just give me my rugby and I'm happy. and yes I've had all my jabs and will still wear a mask I might even start wearing it in bed so there. Coyf.

There was a time when you would have received some grief/banter as a result of posting some rhetoric that included a reference to wearing a mask in bed....... how things have changed for the better
Agree - let's get the rugby started.

Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
Looking like Toulouse may lose some players before week 1. Plenty of players not vaccinated and still don't want to be including their star full back.
Expect some to be signing for English teams maybe....
Get your house on Toulouse to go straight back down if its the case.

I can see a few 48-0 matches coming for them, until they change the rules for them.Swagger wrote: ↑20 Jan 2022, 19:47 Looking like Toulouse may lose some players before week 1. Plenty of players not vaccinated and still don't want to be including their star full back.

Re: Catalan & Toulouse away
On one level, it is their choice, but if you're incentivised by salary to play, that would have a serious impact.
Interesting to see how this plays out, unvaccinated UK based and unable to travel means you have to miss c2 games, being French based and unvaccinated means you miss half a season!
