We’re all entitled to our opinion and mine is that I prefer Amber. I’m not alone in that opinion either.Keithy wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 20:47What's more vivid and get's in the eyes of the opposition, bland mild amber or bright and sharp orange? This was the exact reason why we stopped using the amber colour years ago.derbystiger wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 18:29 Well, that’s a few quid saved again. Is an Amber home shirt too much to ask? T shirt/polo shirt for me again if they come up with something decent
I assume you would like a white, green and purple away shirt as well.
Re: Oxen...
Just a bit, it looks like it's been stuck on over the top as an after thought. That shirt is awful.old cas lass wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 18:11The white across the chest just looks odd.
Re: Oxen...
It looks similar in design to our 2014 home shirt but that one was amber not orange.

Re: Oxen...
Not the best kit I've ever seen, but also not the worse! But I don't get all the pelters about the kit been Orange.
For me it makes us stand out, look at Magic Weekend, can spot Cas fans a mile off in the crowd! Hoping for a purple/green/white kit somewhere in the mix.
One thing I will say about Oxen, their training gear is usually pretty good. Looking at what KR/Whinos/Sheffield offer I can see myself getting a few bits

This.
All my non Cas supporting mates have been complimentary about the new home shirt.
Also, despite all the moaning, I’m betting we still see 1,000+ being worn at the first home game of the season.

Re: Oxen...
I'll start off by saying I am an amber man, always will be. It's our official colour, it's steeped in our history and is nowhere near a garish as the orange options.
Ignoring this I also look at the design and layout of any shirt and to be brutally honest, the new one is awful. As someone has already stated, the white 'V' looks like an afterthought, stuck on at the last minute and there doesn't seem to be any striking patterns other than the 'V'.
Yes, fans will buy it, wear it and occasionally wave it around above their bare naked chest but that's because it is their club shirt and not because it's great.

Re: Oxen...
This will always sell well with having peoples names on who donated.
I'm not a massive fan but will still buy one because of this.

Those weren’t the reasons though were they?Keithy wrote: ↑28 Oct 2021, 20:47What's more vivid and get's in the eyes of the opposition, bland mild amber or bright and sharp orange? It was all about selling more stuff by changing the colour. I don’t have a problem with that, because we need to bring in as much revenue as we can, but don’t pull amber down as a shirt colour, particularly when it’s mixed up with black and white ( like we do with orange) . Some of the shirts we had in the late 90s were fantastic.
Also , if Amber is so crap, why were those away shirts like gold dust last year?

Re: Oxen...
It did work except it had all the shirts on and actually I’m glad you did because it had the 91/93 shirt with Hicksons on the front and that was proper Amber. A much classier colour than either the orange or yellows of recent years. Can we go back to proper amber please?

100% agree with everything there.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 12:39 It did work except it had all the shirts on and actually I’m glad you did because it had the 91/93 shirt with Hicksons on the front and that was proper Amber. Re: Oxen...
One thing this shirt has done is either boost away shirt sales if it's decent or more likely make a 3rd kit a possibility for people who haven't bought one. Either a magic weekend kit or a retro kit would fill the gap nicely.
Re: Oxen...
Pretty sure I don't only speak for myself. I gaursntee you I speak for the majority.
Actually didn't Cas run a poll a few year back and black and Amber massively come out on top.

Cas could design the best shirt ever but once that cbr logo is plastered over the front of it then it's not gonna look good.

Hubby as been in shop this afternoon he said most of the new stuff is grey.
Though he said the material is nice on the new shirts.

There could be a lot worse sponsors names on the shirt ...westerbeast73 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 16:41 Cas could design the best shirt ever but once that cbr logo is plastered over the front of it then it's not gonna look good.

Hull KR have just released their new home shirt (also Oxen) and it looks pretty nice.
