[We Need a] PROP

Post by Mysterio » 13 Oct 2021, 19:25

before the start of the year.

A big beastly one.

Then we’re done.

Hope we don’t make the mistake of not getting one.

A big beastly one? You mean like Suaia Matagi? I think we need more of a “Grant Millington” type prop.

as now we seem to have pushed the boat out RE signings, how far will the money go no way do we want to over spend, we have seen bigger clubs than ours fall for that one

The salary cap is there to stop clubs “overspending”. We could use marquee but given we have no quota spots, I’d hate to think we’d use it on a UK prop.

I reckon they will use Westerman as a ball playing prop. Wait for the crossfire incoming.

I thought more of moving Massey to that role and putting Joe at loose

Agreed. Joe has to be our 13 this year with Milner covering 9 and 13. Massey as prop.

Still think we are weak in the halves. We have nobody who takes control.

Will not be settled unless we acquire half back and prop.

No it isn’t, it is there to try and level the playing field. Clubs can still spend more than their means and several SL clubs have gone into administration during the salary cap era. Gateman is correct in voicing his concerns, in my opinion I wouldn’t be surprised if we have stretched ourselves financially already with our shrinking crowds

Yes, it is. The cap is “live” and you cannot register a new player if you cannot fit his contract within your remaining salary cap. If a club chose to sign a player they obviously couldn’t afford, they that club is run by idiots. I don’t think that we have gone beyond our means. The reports of new sponsorship deals and existing sponsors sticking with us has put the club in a good financial footing in difficult times. Just need the bodies through the gate on match days to push on to the next level

Surely when we release Blair and/or Feki we will have a quota slot and some cash to sign another overseas prop forward.

We’d still have to pay off there contracts, you can’t simply release them and wave them off good bye……

How many games did he play prop like? The handful of Wakefield supporters I’ve spoken to have said he played in back row all season.

Like Hull have done with Fonua at great cost to themselves and Wigan have done with Clark that one is even worse hardly played and had to be payed another full years money and still will count on next season's salary cap

Not if Blair wants to leave if that's true.... but for Feki then yes.

Hes moved to a different club under a new coach so where he played last season doesnt mean anything really. Hes big enough to be a ball playing prop. Watch this space.
