2022 Squad

Post by Fumper27 » 13 Oct 2021, 11:48

As it stands, our 2022 squad currently looks like:

Niall Evalds
Sosaia Feki
Jake Mamo
Mahe Fonua
Bureta Faraimo
Jake Trueman
Danny Richardson
Liam Watts
Paul McShane
Suaia Matagi
Kenny Edwards
Cheyse Blair
Joe Westerman
Adam Milner
Nathan Massey
Jordan Turner
Alex Sutcliffe
George Lawler
George Griffin
Jacques o Neill
Tyla Hepi
Callum Mclelland
Gareth o Brien
James Clare
Daniel Smith
Derrell Olpherts
Lewis Peachey
Brad Martin
Sam Hall
Brad Graham
Cain Robb

I think we’re one prop short (and luck with injuries) from really challenging next season

Agree we need a quality prop and would have preferred Eden's name in there rather than clare's but we'll go ok i reckon. Don't think we'll be near challenging for a trophy though, not enough experience proven quality at halfback for that.

Old cliche but we don't play on paper.

For me, the key will be getting them to gel as a unit as we all know from Warrington, buying quality isn't always enough.

Bowden on is way so that's the prop.

Worrying we see Fonua as a centre so looks like Olpherts and Fariomo will be the wingers.

Not sure Bowden is the quality we need, he is though linked. Given we've just filled our overseas quota though i'm struggling to see another alternative.

I’ll stick my neck out and say he isn’t. Was told that he was offered to Cas but we turned him down.

If not Feki then surely Jordan Turner?

With Radford being properly backed for next season, it makes you wonder if Powell became very sentimental to players, players he could have moved on and replaced, but didn't want to. Not a chance would we have ever seen so many player incomings under DP, even when the squad was crying out for an over haul.

A handy squad and I'll think we'll see people out before they add more. I'm happy with that.

Isn't Eden contracted still?

I’ve seen a list of out of contract cas players, Eden was on it.

I thought he was but have also seen him contracted and not on the picture of leaving players.

My thoughts exactly, I started the post on being excited for next season and it’s not necessarily because I think we’re gonna do this or do that I just think the fact we have signed ‘well known’ players makes next season so intriguing.
