Re: [Signing] Mahe Fonua
I'd expect a back line of Evalds, Turner, Fonua, Mamo, Faraimo, with Sutcliffe being in the back row opposite Edwards. Not sure what's happening with Blair as I've seen talk about him staying in Aus, which I really wouldn't mind, but if he is to return then I don't see a place for him. Feki I would also expect to be paid out at this point as I feel it's definitely time to cut our losses if he's injured yet again. With Eden likely not being resigned that only really leaves us Olpherts, Clare and Quarequare as depth for our wings/centres with O'Brien potential cover for fullback, which isn't excessive given that Clare isn't likely to play often and Quarequare is still unproven.stuey wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 16:29 How many more wingers do we need?
We now have 6. Fonua, Feki, Fariamo, Eden, Olpherts & Clare. Which 3 are going?? As we have Turner & Quarequare as back ups as well.
We are not short of centres either, so not sure why we need Fonua. Malmo, Sutcliffe, Turner, Blair can all play centre.
Edit- The question we should be asking is, if Eden is going and Feki is to be removed from the cap, what are we doing with this new found cap space? assuming it's true that Fonua is a low earner. Surely we're in for another half back with our rumoured recruit McLellend being injured for 6 month

Re: [Signing] Mahe Fonua
If this is the case and we end up with cap space available a prop and half back would work for me. Blairs previous injuries had already caught up with him by the time he came to Cas. Feki has to be a coaches call,if they don't see enough to keep him,by all means let him go. As for young Jason would love to see him stay and develop at Cas but am afraid it won't be long before the kick and clappers come calling.LeagueLeaders wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 18:52I'd expect a back line of Evalds, Turner, Fonua, Mamo, Faraimo, with Sutcliffe being in the back row opposite Edwards. Think on his day he is good. Surely Feki or Blair must be going then.
I think we desperately need another prop and a half back not another winger.
Will he be a decent centre? I'm not sure.

Would have to be very much reduced terms to what he probably signed for Hull on for me.
He was very poor last year, On his first stint Hull form. He would be a good signing. But looked unfit and uninterested last year.

Was a key part of Radford’s give it to the fat lad, U10’s type approach and it’s this I fear us becoming. Not delighted by this signing at all.
Re: [Signing] Mahe Fonua
Yea imo mamo, turner n fonua will be centres with feki, Olpherts, faraimo for wing (+Eden? ) Sutcliffe, Edwards n Blair back row then the rest will just fill in where needed.westerbeast73 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 17:26Sutcliffe and Blair are starting second rowers not starting centres.stuey wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 16:29 How many more wingers do we need?

It’s fascinating.
One thing for sure, it’s all change and that means 50% will be in the Darryl is a God Radford out camp - and the others will be in the Radford we trust camp.

Re: [Signing] Mahe Fonua
Rumour is that he is coming on a similar deal to Matagi and Edwards where we are only paying a part of his wage. If so then good work.

Re: [Signing] Mahe Fonua
Didn't he make the 2016 super league dream team playing at centre? But that was 5 years agoDennis Vazquez wrote: ↑08 Oct 2021, 19:10 Think on his day he is good. Surely Feki or Blair must be going then.

44 tries in 87 appearances over his two spells at Hull which is a decent strike rate. Saying that I’m still shocked he’s only 28!

You’ve obviously not watched how we play under Powell then for the last few years because at times it’s been absolutely boring one out rugby
