Classy Cas
Classy Cas
Just been watching a re/run of the 2017 season. The speed we we're playing was great. Some of the opposition didn't have a clue what was coming at that them. Eden was on fire but so we're everyone else. God it was great. I know I'm probably biased but I thoroughly enjoyed that. I even started laughing wife said get a grip. What I'd give for another season like that. Lol.
Re: Classy Cas

Re: Classy Cas
Shame we didn't build on it. It could and should have been the start of something special.

To be fair the whole team was every time we had the ball we looked tike we were going to score most of the season.

Re: Classy Cas
It was the best year I've seen since it started watching in the late 70s.
Re: Classy Cas
It seemed everything they did worked. I know they practice moves on the training pitch but some of them plays just happened. Great to reflect on the time we were most certainly Classy Cas.Coyf.

It's never cold in Brid, just less warm than elsewhere although I've sat outside of the Sterling, dressed in shorts in March on at least one occasion.
By the way Lurcher, visited The Telegraph whilst we were there t'other week. My kind of pub but a little too out of the way for regular visits, or indeed, the wife!

Re: Classy Cas
Saint Helens now, remind me of how we played in 2017, where did we go wrong.
Re: Classy Cas

Re: Classy Cas
We were no where near the best super league teams but we played some of the best rugby seen in SL during the summer of 2017 I've no doubt in my mind about that

It was brilliant. If only we could replicate that one year. Please.

Re: Classy Cas
For the open play we had in 2017, we need a few things.
Few injuries, and certainly not to key men.
A squad with belief and confidence. Knowing that a winning team gives you both.
Players doing what they have been told to do and when. Look at Jesse that year, left second row and made the correct runs with purpose whether he got the ball or not. You see so many dummy runs that wouldn't fool anyone
Scrums back to give extra space for attacking.
Everyone from fans to players to coaches to directors pulling in the same direction.
Refereeing that doesn't work on a guess. If the ref can't see or has no idea, then don't guess and be the swing before it is reviewed. See Wembley for that try given when the player was in touch and the walmsley try under the sticks and he couldn't see.
And lastly, luck. So many times this year the ball has bounced one way or the other but rarely in our favour.
It can come again but might be in another 20 years. But here's hoping Radford can coach us to some silverware.
