Daryl Powell
Re: Daryl Powell
Yes he did play in that game and it was Rangi that started that move leading to the first try.
Re: Daryl Powell
I seem to remember it being Mike mcmeekin who caught it and passed it to zac gale was waiting on the halfway line for zac to get infront of himthe happy hooker9 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2021, 18:13 Just to compound what everyone has said, my abounding memory of the DP era will be the try scored against Wire (think) when Gale cought ball from KO instead of passing to a forward gave it to Zac on our own line he broke clear went up field turned ball inside to Gale who scored which summed up the ethos of Cas Tigers circa 2017 brilliant football ...Stains not withstanding..
I would never have imagined Tigers being top of the tree at the end of a season... thanks to DP ....the King is 'dead' long live the new King.

Is that the game we scored three trys back to back
During the summer of 2017 we played some of the best attacking rugby I've seen

Re: Daryl Powell
another page in the CAS book thanks DP you will always be looked on as the man that put us on the right track, lets us hope we do not drift back into the dark days again, only the board and the coach can keep us away from that, is Radford and the board up to that only time will tell
Re: Daryl Powell
That was the game we scored four times in 8 minutes:
19th JSL
21st Hardaker (straight from the kick off)
25th Eden
27th Minikin
It was the game that I thought we had something special brewing. That was confirmed the following week when we walloped Leeds at home 66-10

Re: Daryl Powell
How long did it take us to score 4 tries last week?
Re: Daryl Powell
Yeah that was it ...I thought we'd got something special when we played a weakened Hull side in pre season Hardaker was the final peace in place and that's how it turned out ...for almost all the seasonFumper27 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021, 10:02That was the game we scored four times in 8 minutes:

Re: Daryl Powell
If I remember right Warrington’s only involvement during that 4 try burst was to drop a high kick, so I seem to recall we scored 4 without them ever being in possession. Essentially 4 tries back to back.Fumper27 wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021, 10:02That was the game we scored four times in 8 minutes:

Re: Daryl Powell
Strange from a guy who doesn't want to be the coach any more and proactively sought to leave before the end of his contract.
Time to move on - just as it is with players who don't want to be at the club.

I thought I heard him say the other night in his speech ‘I thought I would finish here, but it is what it is’

Re: Daryl Powell
There comes a time as coach when you hit the wall, and that had come. Players get accustomed to the coach so it gets harder to motivate and improve. DP recognised that so decided to leave, with no hard feelings or hidden agenda. It does not mean he loves the club any less.

Daryl openly admits to working on signing players for Warrington whilst employed by Cas, even the signing of George Williams during last season!!?

Re: Daryl Powell
Lost a bit of credibility in my eyes because of that.
Never had 100% focus on us last season, hence lots of poor displays.
He’s gone now, out of our hair.
Roll on the radford era.
