The new rule where team can restart in middle or either side.
What are people thoughts?
Personally I hate it - a nice kick to the corner and everyone troops out to the middle. For me another "meddle" rule - like the free play, 6 again fiasco that makes the game look like a pantomime these days especially with the standard of refereeing :-"

Re: Restart position
no wonder players don't know the rules. eg lino yesterday at final whistle complaining to child that we should have been made to drop out despite hooter having sounded.

Re: Restart position
Child let the final few seconds tick away then called time Wakey wanted clock stopped but I think your allowed 25 seconds to re-start but not sure

Re: Restart position
For a drop out I've seen them stop the clock but the drop out clock keeps ticking. I'm suprise he didn't stop the clock but don't know the ruling. If it was a goal kick you get s minute supposedly before the clock stops.

Re: Restart position
I believe the ref must hold up the game but not the clock until the Touchies are in position. He basically has to prevent the drop kick until the touch judges are back up the pitch so they can make a call when the kick lands.

Re: Restart position
Very simple with the drop out. 9 seconds left on the clock, we have 30 secs to take it. Game over
