Can’t see that. They’ve put rules in place to decide positions on %age. I think if anything they will extend the playoffs to fill the space left by the World Cup postponementjackknife wrote: ↑07 Aug 2021, 10:04I can see super league changing play offs to top 4 if games keep getting cancelled.Blackbulltiger wrote: ↑06 Aug 2021, 23:42 Shame we put the total season in to winning challenge cup would being shoe in for top six on this performance

Leeds have now lost the same number of games as us. A lot is going to depend on the run in form of Leeds and the two Hull sides and also whether we can get anything out of the two away games at Saints and CatalansBlackbulltiger wrote: ↑06 Aug 2021, 23:42 Shame we put the total season in to winning challenge cup would being shoe in for top six on this performance
Once again highlights what a ludicrous system end of season play-offs is
True but Rugby League has being playing Hokey Cokey with the Championship for many years. In the mid 60s Swinton won the Championship twice by finishing top of division 1. Roll forward less than 10 years and Stevo’s Dewsbury won the Championship from 8th place by winning 3 knockout games. Roll forward to the late 90s the team at the top won Superleague and then it changed again.
Bottom line is that you win competitions by understanding the rules and pacing yourself to give yourself the best chance of winning. That’s what Cas have tried to do this year. Time will tell if we’ve got it right. Sadly we didn’t in 2017.

I saw he’d gone off for a HIA. Let’s hope it’s nothing to serious.1935tigeryear wrote: ↑06 Aug 2021, 23:53Looked to me like a knee/lower leg injury, rather than a head knock, so hopefully OK.old cas lass wrote: ↑06 Aug 2021, 21:49 Could be without matautia v saints.
He went off for a HIA.
Only gives him 6 days.
Unless he passed it.

Re: Squad v Leeds.
It was superb defensive performance despite conceding some soft tries. However, the defensive element was mostly of our own doing with some stupid penalties given away and poor discipline, justified or not. Leeds got given pretty much everything and struggled to break us down.
Their first try only came after Matautia got sin binned and Leeds exploited space left. Their second try was forward on the replay. And their final try was nothing more than a consolation score from a momentary lapse of concentration.
Attack wise for us we looked decent in places and seemed to make a good few breaks. We had plenty of chances to rack up more points but both sides in truth were guilty of being wasteful. Our kicking game was poor from both halves although saying that we did score from 2 kicks, one of which was Macca.
Decent performance, scratchy in places and Leeds were garbage.
