Re: Hardacre
Latest murmurings from Lenegan are that they know he's moving back over here and understand the reasons why but they are nervous of the potential consequences...

Re: Hardacre
I don’t blame Wigan for trying to get a fee. They took a massive gamble signing him, have spent quite a bit of money on his wages/rehab etc and also have an option in their favour for 2023, so he’s essentially their player for another two seasons. It’s also too late for them to find a replacement who is a) as good and b) doesn’t take up a quota spot.
Wigan are in need of a half-back though, and Trueman only has a year left on his deal at Cas. If it looks like Trueman is going to walk for nothing at the end of next season, it might be sensible business for both clubs to come to an agreement for a player swap.

Re: Hardacre
Why do Wigan need a half? I’d hazard a guess that Jai Field and Harry Smith will be their 6 and 7 next season

Re: Hardacre
Just seen this on twitter.
Word on the rugby league curb is Wigan we’re/are so desperate to offload Zak they wavered their requirement for a fee but Castleford Tigers board were split over sanctioning the deal and missed Friday deadline. ERLITK now believe a deal will be sorted in the coming weeks

I thought it was a strange statement from Lenegan yesterday on one hand he's saying we so want you out of the club we've given you a oppertunity to find another club to play for and on the other he thinks there's a chance they will activate the clause to keep him for 2023 I'll see pigs fly before that happens

The same person was saying Zak wasn’t coming back to Cas the other day.

Re: Hardacre
We wanted a loan deal with the ability too terminate at any point and as such was rejected by Wigan.
There may be a deal still to be done but If Featherstone win this week they could lose him as he already spoken to them too.
If Cas can get in place a better offer can still get him as it ls preferred choice.

Re: Hardacre
These 'Rugby League in the know' accounts that keep popping up on Twitter are getting silly now. A classic case of scroll through social media and forums and put 2 and 2 together to make up rumours and stories.

Re: Hardacre
In the unlikely event Fev win a place in SL, my guess would be ZH signing for them. We would be a good second choice for him.

Re: Hardacre
Hard to believe this thread has gone on as long as it has.
Castleford are a club with integrity.
Club values will not allow a signing like this.
No self respecting fan would ever welcome the return of such a train crash.

Three of those were already at the club when their transgressions occurred. The club swiftly dealt with those individuals, none of whom ever played for the club again. The fourth (Chase) returned to the club and was banned for substance abuse after he left.
I don’t think you meant to, but I think that you have strengthened stevieblunder’s argument.

Re: Hardacre
If hardacker makes the squad stronger, we should seriously think about signing him. Don’t get me wrong i detested what he did to the club.
But, if saints can bring barba in after his misdemeanours and win MOS and the GF. Maybe he’s worth another shot.
Head says ok give him another try, heart say NO.

Re: Hardacre
According to Hull daily mail it was Fc and Kr he was speaking to about a move

In a further development, Rugby League Live has now learned that Hardaker was banned from speaking to either Hull FC or Hull KR as part of the agreement put in place by the club.
That was due to the geographical location of the city, with Wigan stating that Hardaker would still have to undergo an extensive commute if he were to join either the Black and Whites or the Robins.
It means Hardaker was told he could only speak to clubs in West Yorkshire, such as former clubs Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos, Wakefield Trinity and Huddersfield Giants. Another of Hardaker's former clubs, Featherstone Rovers, also fell into that category.
