Paul McShane
Re: Paul McShane
Bad news after bad news with no information what so ever from the club. Can't believe its been 14 month since I went to a game, I'm not one bit excited to get back into games on 17th May. My interest has fell off a cliff lately, Macca going probsbly be final nail in coffin on my decision not to renew next year. Especially with the trick they pulled selling season tickets this year, not telling fans daryl was leaving until after deadline when they knew he was already off.

Like rats deserting a sinking ship. Cas need to announce the new coach asap as people are getting fed up with the situation. However they are probably holding off the announcement because they know the fans wont be happy with the new coach whoever that turns out to be.

Unfortunately this is true, I've bought his house off him when he goes.

In fairness, it’s just bad rumour after bad rumour. The only bad *news* has been the departure of Powell at the end of 2021.Nobody wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 20:57 Bad news after bad news with no information what so ever from the club. Seems to be common knowledge that Evalds has signed a long-term contract.
Trueman is contracted for 2022.
McShane is contracted for 2022.
Watts is contracted for 2022.
Most of the players who are coming out-of-contract are replaceable.
I’ve been calling for us to be more ruthless with contracts for years - too often we have doled out long-term deals to average players. We seem to be terrified that players will leave, despite them hardly being top international performers and all other clubs having the same salary-cap. If they leave, they leave.
If we want to retain a player, we need to be offering a deal and give a deadline for them to accept it or not. If not, we’ll look elsewhere and they can test their value on the open market, with no guarantee that anyone will offer as much as we did.
Most RL players are in a fairly weak negotiating position. There are very few employers out there, the amount they can spend is capped and they have to need a player in the position they play.

Maybe theyre waiting for fans to be back in the stands before announcing signings and hirings??tigerfeat wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 20:08The communication with the fans from the club is shocking and as been for a whileTamworth Tiger wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 19:54 I’m well aware of that and my first post explained that I don’t take much notice of these rumours.
My concern is that there is nothing coming out of the club as we approach the beginning of May.
For the first time in the 60+ years I have supported the club through thick and thin I am actually wondering whether I will commit in the way that I have before.
I don’t need individual answers to every rumour, just some general positive assurance from the club that they have a positive strategy for the future.
I'm same I've supported the club all my life ,the last point you make about just needing to be kept in the loop is a good one even the most loyal fan will start to question what there doing if the club can't be bothered to let them know what's going on

Re: Paul McShane
Just because he’s opened talks with the club does not mean he’ll be staying.
His agent is saying all the right things at the min.
That could change if we offer him x amount,
And other clubs offer him xx amount.
So not cut and dry he’ll be a cas player next year or beyond.

Re: Paul McShane
True, but there was a statement on here yesterday that he’s already rejected a new deal when negotiations haven’t even started. Why do people do that?;

I take rumours especially from certain posters with a pinch of salt.
