Cas board and Radford

Post by laner » 20 Apr 2021, 22:08

Would hope the board would back the fans in the past the club has asked the fans to back the club it’s apparent that the fans won’t welcome Radford admitted he has had success in the past but he has had the club where he was backing him with quality signings would he get that at Cas very very much doubt it

I’m a season ticket holder and will welcome him.
Not sure who fans actually thought we was going get.

Why not give the bloke a chance? While he wouldnt have been my choice, he deserves every chance to build a squad and do a job, and he deserves to have the fans behind him. Let's have some positivity for a change!

Definitely would not be my first choice but I will get behind him if he gets the gig.

Hull hissed on our fireworks enough times while he was steering that ship so it's not like he's a novice.

It's what he (or whoever our new coach is) will be allowed to spend on the squad that will be the critical factor.

Wouldn't mind having a few Hull style big fat lads in the squad....

Interesting that in 2017 when we lost only 7 matches all season, three of them were to Radford’s Hull. He must have been doing something right.

Simple rugby with big strong players . It can be effective. Not the most attractive to watch though.

It goes back to that old saying you cant please all the people all of the time, and its gona be the same with this new coach. Everybody putting there peneth one in is fine but at the end of the day the club cant manage without the fans,so let's get behind who ever is appointed ,radford or who ever

Interestingly in serious about rugby online,a poll of cas fans had radford way ahead of other candidates, so according to that he has the majority backing him

It’s each to their own .he seems like a decent bloke to be honest I just personally don’t like his brand of rugby and find his teams very dull to watch and very inconsistent.
On the plus side he did give Ryan Bailey a smack so it’s not all negative

He’s had a break from coaching. Who knows what he’s learned. Powell was being criticised on here last year for us playing a more boring style too.

He coaching achievements are not what lost him the job at Hull it was his bully like handling of the players. Players spoke out after his departure of his handling of certain players. Also recently on social media he was involved with a spat with Gareth raynor calling each other out for a street fight very surprised the board find his image appropriate at this time.

Thanks. Hadn’t heard any of that before other than his spat with Watts. If anything thought it was the out of control players like Kelly he wasn’t strong enough to handle.

Wasn’t the back and forth with Gareth Raynor to do with arranging a charity boxing match?

Whoever gets the job it will not have anything to do with what we think or want. It never has done and it never will do. The BOD will do as they see fit and crack on with it. They don’t ask or need to ask the fans what they think.

Until they want us to buy ST, tickets and merchandise then they want to “Engage our wonderful fan base”. They didn’t engage with us when it was agree that DP was moving on. What did they do? Waited until ST sales had neeed then it came out. Is that being fair with the fans?

If we agree or not makes no difference. What we all need to do is decide to keep going or not as many many of us do. If the appointment of Radford isn’t for you and you don’t like the product then don’t buy it. Just as you would in any other industry.

A forum is to discuss the merits of things but when the season allows most of us will still go.

All I ask is we make the choice and go with it. Just please please please let’s not go down the “I am a super fan” or I have been going longest” or the “Any true supporter” and all that rubbish.

Probaly only coach we super league experience who wanted the job knowing going to have a limited budget, and two or three off are top players, are going to leave end off season. One off worce facility's in super league, maybe we should be thankful any body we experience and won trophys wanted the job.
