Re: James Harrison
Proposal, according to John Davidson, is to start season back end of March next year and finish 9th Oct.

Re: James Harrison
It's doable but we are going to have to lose internationals. We can't have a scenario of playing 3 matches in 8 days. It vastly helps the rich clubs who can afford to play 2 squads.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑01 Nov 2020, 22:51 Proposal, according to John Davidson, is to start season back end of March next year and finish 9th Oct.

Re: James Harrison
Very curious situation at the moment, if you had published a plan in April for a December start, you would have been confident, but as it stands it is unlikely, that being said you have to have a plan.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑01 Nov 2020, 22:51 Proposal, according to John Davidson, is to start season back end of March next year and finish 9th Oct.
at least we are trying to form a plan and make something we can work towards, I think I speak for most when I say getting out of this season elegantly seems the most challenging thing!

the later next season starts, the more impact it will have on the World Cup... assuming that goes ahead.

Re: James Harrison
We should be looking to start the season beginning of April with a November finish again and put the world cup back a year .It is vital for the sport to give our clubs the best chance to get some crowds back in the stadiums and get back on a sounder financial footing.

Silly from Fev. He's off contact after 2021. They should have took the money and had a clause where they get him back on loan for 2021. Instead, even if it's not us, he'll leave for nothing once his conracts up.

My thoughts exactly Fev playing hard ball as it’s Casheritage1926 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2020, 19:58 Silly from Fev. He's off contact after 2021. Re: James Harrison
They have now just lost out on a fee for him. They should have bit the bullet and sold to us and asked to loan him back.Tigerman2014 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2020, 20:10My thoughts exactly Fev playing hard ball as it’s Casheritage1926 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2020, 19:58 Silly from Fev. Either:
A) They're confident they're super league bound and want to keep him
B) Happy losing him at the end of 2021 for nothing, as long as it's not to us.

Re: James Harrison
100 percent option B if he wants to play super league he’ll force a move wether to us or anyone else ! He’d be daft not to now he’s had a taste at Whinosheritage1926 wrote: ↑16 Nov 2020, 20:53They have now just lost out on a fee for him. Re: James Harrison
Intrigued by all those saying Fev have lost out on a fee. How much was offered please?
It would make no sense at all for Fev to let him go to Cas - or anyone else - for a small fee, because it would have been very difficult to replace him at this stage of the season for a similar cost. He's a very important player to Fev because he's equally effective playing as one of the middles or as edge back row.
It also wouldn't make much sense for Cas to offer even a medium-ish fee, because at this stage he's likely to be a fringe player and instead of spending transfer fee + salary you could probably get a regular-starter type of forward for the same money.
He probably will move on at the end of 2021 unless Fev get into SL, either via the current vacant 12th spot (unlikely) or via promotion (a definite possibility with no Toronto in the Championship this year). Fev have invested a lot in the playing squad to have another good go at gaining promotion this year so I'm not sure why people think it's silly to hang on to one of their best forwards (who would be very hard to replace)just to get what would likely be a relatively insignificant transfer fee.

Re: James Harrison
Just copied and pasted this from the article about Bailey Hodgson ...
The money received from the transfer fee shall be re-invested into the Castleford playing squad.
Does this mean we could see cas paying fev a fee for Harrison ?

Re: James Harrison
The Fev Chairman is a canny businessman who plays hard ball. He usually has the nerve to hold out longer than his opponents in any negotiation, regardless of the consequences if he doesn't get what he wants.

Haven’t they just signed 2 of ours who play exactly the same position?Anglo wrote: ↑17 Nov 2020, 14:10 Intrigued by all those saying Fev have lost out on a fee. How much was offered please?

Re: James Harrison
Not sure what this would have to do with it anyway, but Fev signed two of the ex-Cas academy lads, Joe Summers, who is a back row I think, and Jacob Doyle, who is a wing. I'd expect them both to be no more than fringe players next season.Pricey2000 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020, 02:49
