Not heard anything. However, after last time I wouldn’t post it on here anyway.

Re: Watkins
I reckon we could get Watkins back to his best and he is better than any of our current options in the back line.
Re: Watkins
Watkins would be a tremendous signing. And desperately needed.
I’ve felt sorry for shenny. He is seriously nearing the end. As is millo.
With Princess leaving, it is clear now that our biggest earner is going to be off the roster. I can’t imagine anyone else other than maybe watts on 10k per month!
Cook going, Millington should not be renewed (hull Kr perfect signing imo) Shenton in his last year, we have money to spend. We must have. Unless we have to hold monies back because of survival re Covid.

Give shenton a decent winger who is a threat pace wise and we'll see a different shenton!

Re: Watkins
Totally this, Kallum has been a great player for Leeds and England, but he was finished 2 years ago, maybe longer, I think he knows it too, he’s had plenty of chances to get back to his best form and he failed to do it, Leeds knew it and that’s why they reneged on the promised marquee deal!! Leeds knew he was done!!nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑31 Aug 2020, 00:18 I know we’ve lost a few games, but we seem to have forgotten how poor Watkins was after his injury during 2019, both at Leeds and Gold Coast.
He looked out of his depth at Leeds, and completely out of his depth in the NRL.
He has been a very good player and it’s a shame he is nowhere near that level now. But unfortunately his injury ended him as a top player.
I wouldn’t be spending another penny on this season now.

Re: Watkins
Couple of years ago I saw Webster stood up several times by opposition centres and knew then it was time. Unfortunately this season I've seen the same with shenny. No place for sentiment I'm afraid. Maybe time to call it a day.SWISS TONY!! wrote: ↑31 Aug 2020, 20:52 Give shenton a decent winger who is a threat pace wise and we'll see a different shenton!
Re: Watkins
He looked ok at Gold Coast, something happened at Leeds. Look at the shambolic way he left the club with no big send off. He went to the Wolfpack for personal reasons, not because he was poor.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑31 Aug 2020, 00:18 I know we’ve lost a few games, but we seem to have forgotten how poor Watkins was after his injury during 2019, both at Leeds and Gold Coast.

Re: Watkins
I'm not saying it isnt time as that catches up with everyone, just think hes more dangerous as a player with a good quick winger outside him as any decent centre should be.Derbyshiretiger wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 05:55Couple of years ago I saw Webster stood up several times by opposition centres and knew then it was time. I get the point defensively though, it was one of his strengths.

Quoting this as clearly the poster sees players critically (as well as positively no doubt)Derbyshiretiger wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 05:55Couple of years ago I saw Webster stood up several times by opposition centres and knew then it was time. Absolutely true; Shenton is most certainly displaying all the signs of a player who’s legs are going. It happens to everyone unless you’re beaver or cam smith ...or Brad Davis! It’s sad and it’s going to be emotional, but I firmly believe that we need to go into 2021 with a replacement gun left centre, or we’re not going to put ourselves In silverware territory.
I really really hope that Daryl has seen it, surely he has,
Ps. I have the utmost respect for Michael shenton. I hope he excels against hull Kr, if he doesn’t it highlights even more v weaker opposition,

Re: Watkins
Can remember Wigan away 2018 , that was the day Webster was done for me when joe burgess ran straight over the top of him a few times , sad to see but same thing is happening with Shenton
Re: Watkins
Recall it well unfortunately. Jake was very much exposed and vulnerable and the penny dropped for everyone sadly. Did he pay again for us?Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 14:52 Can remember Wigan away 2018 , that was the day Webster was done for me when joe burgess ran straight over the top of him a few times , sad to see but same thing is happening with Shenton

I'd be looking at Watkins replacing McMeeken I think he'd make a damn good second rower.

Re: Watkins
Watkins played in the second row for Leeds before he left for Oz.
He looked paceless and didn't have one good game for them.
I'd be surprised if he ever got back to his pace and form of 3 yrs ago.

Great left edge partnership if Salford sign Joe Burgess from Wigan as rumoured (if not already confirmed elsewhere)old cas lass wrote: ↑06 Sep 2020, 21:01 Salford bound.
