Yeah, read that. I meant any update since that, given that is a week old. Have Salford lowered their demands? Have Cas increased their offer with SL due to restart?blinkstudios wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 21:07Read the comment above ](*,)Fumper27 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 21:01blinkstudios wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 20:17Like you say you dont know what qualifications he has got so your comment he might not be playing rugby is just guess work. He might be a brain surgeon aswell and will get even more money for that. If anyones comments are stupid you need to have a good look in the mirror as your up there with the best of em. As for the Evalds comment he would have been here by now if Salford had not changed the goal posts on the deal at the last minute.Fumper27 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 19:55Deary me. You’ve taken stupid to a whole new level with you half-thought out post, even more so than your infamous “Evalds will be confirmed next week, watch this space “.... two wells agoblinkstudios wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 18:58
Well if that's the case good ridance to him, unfortunately though Oz dont just let any Tom Dick or Harry live there. They only let in people with the work skills they require. If my memory serves me right he plays rugby. Unless he has some other work skill I dont know about. Sure you will let me know though seen as how you think you know everything
Can people not have multiple skills and qualifications? Even Liam Watts has an estate agency business to go into after his RL career. Ash Robson left Cas a few years back to go part time because his earning potential was limited as a professional RL player.
I don’t know what qualifications Calum has but if, for arguments sake, he was trained as an architect and got offered £50,000 to start and play RL at Cas as bit part squad player or he was offered £100,000 to go and work as an architect in Sydney, I know which I would choose.
Not guess work, just putting an alternative point of view across. Not everything is as it seems. Just because a player goes to Australia, it’s not a given its to play rugby. Surely even you can accept that?
PS - any update on the Evalds to Cas early move????

According to UK law, verbal contracts are binding where two or more parties agree on services to be performed and on remuneration for said services.blinkstudios wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 22:11Wow if that was the case the world would be a much easier place.
Taken from London law practice. The issues arise when there are no witnesses.

So, if witnesses were present, Salford couldn’t “move the goalposts” by Law? Does the witness have to be independent??TT Tiger wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 06:53According to UK law, verbal contracts are binding where two or more parties agree on services to be performed and on remuneration for said services.blinkstudios wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 22:11Wow if that was the case the world would be a much easier place.

A verbal contract is valid according to the letter of the law. However, if there is a verbal contract and then one party decides not to play ball then the only way that the other party can enforce the contract is to take it through the courts. A judgement has to be made of the potential benefits if the case is successful v the cost of such action and as a result few cases are pursued. I’m pretty sure there would be considered to be enough benefit in getting Evalds early to justify pursuing a case in court.

Pursuing a case in court for what exactly ?

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Verbal agreements *no special knowledge of this particular bicker in progress* are almost impossible to enforce on the basis that there is no accounting for intonation and intent.
That is why written agreements are so arduous because they have to account for every eventuality.
Liam Sutcliffe would be a good signing, to the matter in hand. He can clearly play and he wont be the first player to not quite get it right in some systems and do better in others - that may be with us. I know Barrie Mac pretty well and he always spoke highly of him when he broke in to the first team. He did also feel that always being in a full time sporting environment, he would have benefitted from a year of actual work, to get a handle on the real world.
I think the risk for Liam is that if he doesn't, as someone else said, get a position locked down, he risks being a bit Lee Smith - competent at a lot of things but not ever really cementing anything.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Thought sutty would be the next sinfield but never developed.
I don't rate him and certainly don't think he's rapid enough for any back position.
His best position would be a ball handling 13. However i repeat i don't rate him.
I do hold daryl in the highest esteem though so I'll go with him

Not a Full Back.
Not a Threequarter
Not a Halfback
Not a Second Row
Not a lot more to say.

Good don’t see a place for him
Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Thanks for confirming what we already knew
Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Matt Shaw at TotalRL has confirmed this evening that Sutcliffe has handed his transfer request in. IMO under DP he could be a good signing.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
not sure on that mate, too slow for the backs and not heavy or aggressive enough for the forwards. shame as he seems like a genuine kid so might go well in the championship.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
The problem I have with Sutcliffe is, you can't say he's improved since he burst on the scene a few year back. His career just seems to have plateaud. He's not fast enough for the backs and he's too light weight for the forwards. Leeds have tried him everywhere and cannot find a position for him which is worrying. The only position I can make a claim for him, is a ball handling loose forward. But his he really going to de-throne Massey or Milner?

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
he says in the league express he wants to nail down a regular position and he would prefer it to be number 6. don't think he'll get that at cas.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
He's contracted at Leeds till 2021 I think so i would imagine he's got a deal somewhere else if he's asked for a transfer
