Re: McMeekan
Maybe he thinks the 2 young props rumoured to be signing and Dan Fleming will be enough ? Time will tell.
Re: McMeekan
Considering that they will be up against packs that Sts, Wigan, Hull and Leeds have already have that’s a marker for DP to consider when making his signingswesterbeast73 wrote: ↑15 Nov 2020, 09:21 Maybe he thinks the 2 young props rumoured to be signing and Dan Fleming will be enough ? Re: McMeekan
If we don't replace the 3 forwards with quality additions that are leaving who would get in our match day 17 when fit then it is just hot air from Powell.laner wrote: ↑15 Nov 2020, 00:00 Now the guessing game starts of who the club signs , the coach said he is looking forward to next season and challenging for trophies well let’s hope he might be right but if he does not add two big forwards and a centre he his in for a big shock as a lot of the fans but not him see the squad as it is not being good enough
We will have no chance of competing at the top end of the table.

Confirmed today going to France
Re: McMeekan
Wouldn’t surprise me if they dropped him after a few week when they see how lazy he is.
Re: McMeekan
I think he'll do well for a few seasons before he gets comfy n complacent.

His game doesn’t suit Catalans. They expect their forwards to be aggressive and base their game on bullying the opposition forwards. McMeeken just doesn’t do that.

Maybe McNamara will instill it into him.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑12 Dec 2020, 12:00 His game doesn’t suit Catalans. They expect their forwards to be aggressive and base their game on bullying the opposition forwards. McMeeken just doesn’t do that.
Maybe new surrounding, new team mates. Different regime could give him some fire in his belly.
Or it could go the other way, he as a small child with I believe another on the way. Could he become home sick, especially if family can’t travel to see the young family.
It all remains to be seen.

Re: McMeekan
Was he a free agent or did we get a fee for him

Free agent

Would love to see anyone who calls Mcmeekan, or any rugby player, a princess to their face. It’s the most physical sport around and, those who tend to make such comments have probably never played the game to understand how tough it is.
Yes, his performance level dropped from 2017 but he put his body on the line every game he played

And I’m certain lots of fans would like a 121 with players before it gets to the stage of frustration to explain what they see.Fumper27 wrote: ↑12 Dec 2020, 20:46 Would love to see anyone who calls Mcmeekan, or any rugby player, a princess to their face. Mike went missing far too much for my liking.
I know how tough the game is thanks, possibly played more than you and currently walking like a baboon due to ongoing back and knee injuries. And yes - mental toughness is just as prevalent in RL Players, unfortunately some more than others like in all walks of life.
Kind regards

Goes hiding when we're in the grind during games. If we are losing disappears into back play, stands about with his hands on his hips, doesn't run the ball in. Wants all the glory but doesn't want to do the hard graft for it. Different story when we're on the flip side of the coin when we're winning. Two different players.

Exactly what I said pal. Great in 2017 when we were hammering teams. Disappointing since.Nobody wrote: ↑13 Dec 2020, 14:01 Goes hiding when we're in the grind during games. Not big enough not heavy enough. Ball handling scales non existence. Very mediocre. No good having great backs without strong forwards.
