No mate. The Bull is opposite Savile Park. The one in thinking of was situated on the land between the Commercial Inn and the Hightown Convenience Store. It was a white building and has some flats built on there now
the four ferrets

Just shows how many social gatherings there would have been in all those pubs and clubs. How things change and always not for the better in my opinion. Whilst on the subject of closures when I worked in the mines I used to get my bacca from Beasley's which was close to the Prince of Wales Feathers. I know it moved onto Aire street is it still there.

Imo castleford and pontefract have both died since xscape opened. And many a town has suffered because of out of town shopping outlets. Nearest town to me us Chesterfield and the town is thriving. Maybe a coincidence that theres not an outlet close by.

Someone showed me a clip of some lads smashing Gregg's window on Carlton Street. I think it was on YouTube. Oh what a lovely town we've become.

Have to agree, similar situation in Ashby in that there is nothing out of town particularly close. Not sure it is a "thing" in this area when you go to Burton, Coleville etc - they are still towns where people go and they're busy on a Saturday and pubs in the evening. I mean not at the moment, but you take my point.

Genuinely I'll be on to the DIY list off the Mrs soon..... thankfully B and Q are in chaos and there is no prospect of materials at the moment. But I am over lockdown. *Fully appreciate that is a privilege to be over it, may all of us and our loved ones stay well and safe* but you know what I mean.

What is it with people coughing and spitting on people while we're in this mess. I read someone did it at pound stretcher in Castleford I think it's that one near the old market entrance. Apparently he got six months jail. Too leniant in my opinion should have wrapped him up in cling film and threw him off the bridge into the river. Complete and utter discrace.
