Re: Jamie Ellis
I hope Turner can apply himself to a position other than full back.
On the rare occasions he played other than that role for us I seriously questioned his attitude and commitment.
His body language was negative, he seemed unhappy and out of his depth.

I remember Peter Small
Re: Jamie Ellis
Turner I thought did well when he turned out for the team and scored a really nice try on a very slick move bounding through off the shoulder which was the only time I saw them execute that move which was a shame they didn’t try it more often
Re: Jamie Ellis
He got threw under the bus shortly after when he had a poor game on the wing cant remember who it was against ,he didnt brake no pots in the games he had at full back last year but the team wasnt playing well hard to ask a young full back to make the difference with the way the other backs were playing
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

I’m not surprised it’s square peg in a round hole again! I’ve watched Callum since he was around 14 and I’ve seen nothing to suggest he could play half back.
Hope it works out for him

Re: Jamie Ellis
what have we to loose trying Turner at half back in our second team if it works another home grown player, development of our own players is the way to go, my son and i will most likely be watching the second team i will see how he goes then pass comment , still a bloody shame these m second team matches clash with the TV games

Re: Jamie Ellis
No problem Turner playing in halves in reserves but Powell surely can't see him stepping in to the first team there when the inevitable injuries occur.
So we have gone from having 5 genuine halves to 2, talk about forward planning....

Re: Jamie Ellis
Really we have Mata’utia, Mcshane n Rankin that can all fill in at half back for the odd game so that puts Turner 6th choice atm. Lets just hope Ricco n Truey can stay fit for best part of season.

Re: Jamie Ellis
None you mention are genuine halves, I wonder how many other teams will run with only 2 halves, but it seems strange when over the last 2 seasons it was deemed by the coaching set up we needed 5.
Re: Jamie Ellis
Don't think it's halfs we will end up finishing short. I have no confidents in are three quarters if Shenton or Blair get long time jury or not performing not much cover at all a actual centre who plays thereSharlotiger wrote: ↑12 Dec 2019, 13:52None you mention are genuine halves, I wonder how many other teams will run with only 2 halves, but it seems strange when over the last 2 seasons it was deemed by the coaching set up we needed 5.
