Thanks CY, a good hard game with only 6 penalties awarded.casyorkie wrote:Went to 18's game at Normanton today one sided scoreline but thought Normy players gave good account for themselves.
The score did'nt justify the game, Normy did'nt give up and played till the end. Milford are a class act and have strike players all over the field, the nimber 7 is something else, dictated everything and made space for himself to operate also very difficult to close down.
We have lost a prop to Cas now who was very influencial, he gave us good go forward and was very good in defence, we also lost our 7 early on (broken hand I think).
50% of our team is playing a year above themselves as well, so most of the team are on a learning curve which will only go well for them next season.
I take nothing away from Milford, they are a very well drilled team who play a very high level of rugby.
They will win most things this season, league,County cup and probably the National and good luck to them they deserve it on the performances I have seen them.
What I will say is though, Cas are in for a couple of their players and I'am pleased they have as they are excellent choices.
We have already picked up Adam Fairhead from Milford, their number 7 is coming our way and believe me he is a good player, plus another.
Our U18's (Cas) will be a formidable force next season with the signings they have done, I will be watching because I think they will be a force to be reckoned with.

7 11 and 12 are all down at Cas at moment and as only cas lad down at Milford its great to see.
Last year i thought the 7 was playing better than Fairhead in his team and believe there is more to come.
Wouldnt mind the 13 down at Cas as well he took a big hit in first half and never came back on.
Local cups and league they do look strong will be intresting if get one of top lancashire clubs in national cup.
Right what you said about your lads i thought heads might drop and wouldnt be able to keep up intensity all game but fair play they did. 2 positioanl play was superb in first half took everthing thrown at him was impressed with him, 14 did well in second half as well.

castleford panthers vs lock lane
Normy away to Hunslet Park Side in the Yorkshire Cup replay.
Also there is a masters game at Eastmoor today 1.30pm ko.
Teams there will be Lock Lane,Cas Panthers,Donny Toll Bar,Normy and Saddleworth I think.
The masters games have been a success where ever they have been played, might go to this instead of the Cas game.

WRE, the game is off between us two. The pitch looks like the Somme. All council pitches are called off aswell.

WHELDON-ROAD-END wrote:I am sad to say Normy Knight that we have folded.
Reasons i guess are because for a good 4 months now we have only had an average of 5/6 training twice a week and not getting enough players for Sundays.
Takes some beliving this mate, you've got a very good bunch of players there who are more than worthy of being in the premiership division.
Look at Stanningley, played all their games lost every one of them yet still turn up and play their games.
I'll have a word with Bob and see whats happening.

SUPER League stars are backing a fundraising drive to help the Normanton Knights extend their clubhouse
The team needs to raise £50,000 to build the planned extension before the next season kicks off in September.
Former junior knights players and now Super League stars, including homegrown Jamie Langley, of Bradford Bulls, and Ben Westwood, of Warrington Wolves, are backing the plans.
Members of the club, based at Queen Elizabeth Drive, also want to revamp their facilities.
Johnny Kirk, 28, who plays on the Knights’ first team, said: “We have wanted to do this for a long time, and it takes so long to look for funding and apply for grants that we just decided to do something about it ourselves.
“We know it’s a lot of money to raise, but we think we can do it.â€
