There's every chance img will be scrapped god knows what they will come up with next
This is why the game is on its knees, literally changing the fundamental rules like u change ur clothes it's pathetic. Guarantee if we go back to P&R give it 4/5 years and we'll bring in a licence system lol. Until we have a clear plan and stick to it for many years like the NRL we'll always be a joke sport
100% agree, let’s have another review and go back to P&R, no wait let’s split the league in 2 mid season, hang on let’s have a franchise closed shop system, no wouldn’t it be better if…
Joke shop sport

Maybe they will try and get Toronto back in just the 7,000 mile return trip for a game of rugby honestly the lot of them in charge are beyond useless

Surely Buenos Aires would be a better option with all the untapped rugby league potential it has to offer. I know there’s barely any interest in South Yorkshire so for me South America is the obvious target.

Got to agree with the last few posts on this thread. Road to nowhere that started with the first Sky deal.

Makes you wonder if that is why MJ hasn’t fully taken over as yet. If the NRL comes in and sets up regional franchises as rumoured then Cas, along with many other clubs, are done as a top flight entity.

My personal opinion is that that would kill the game in this country. I’ve lived all over the North and Midlands in the last 50 years and most people that I came across in the East and West Midlands with the exception of bits of Leicestershire and Coventry were only mildly interested in Rugby and that wasn’t Rugby League. Similarly in northern Lancs and where Iived in North Yorkshire the game was treated with ambivalence. The history of the game is littered with dozens of failed startups all over the country, and we’re not even looking after our own heartland clubs. Just look at the difference between club and international level in Union. Even Wasps couldn’t hack it in the Ricoh at Coventry, despite RUs success at international level.
There isn’t the grassroots appetite for league across the country and with only two trophies to play for the new regions won’t see success without huge injections of capital. I hope we’re not going for another expensive pipe dream which will ultimately weaken and probably bankrupt the sport.
