Doesn’t that just mean that they’re more reliable than everyone else? That’s not a very high bar imo

I've found them both to be good reporters of rugby league myself

Right then Mr Jepson, we've plenty of cap space available so over to you. A player like Kallum Watkins alongside the aforementioned Ormondroyd and maybe a back up half/utility like Atkin would give us the tools to be a top 6 contender. Watkins would be expensive, the other two not so much. How much do you want us to be truly competitive?

I’m still mystified what is happening at Salford. It’s now two weeks past their deadline and there is a headline in League Express saying ‘Red Devils take over expected this week’, which sounds positive for them.
The detail then says ‘Salford Red Devils are expected to confirm that they will be sold to new owners early this week’
Well it’s Wednesday tomorrow and a confirmation that the club ‘will be sold’ means very little if due diligence etc has to be done. In the meantime where is the money coming from to keep them going?
It will be interesting to see how long this strings out.

Guys on RL Raw already questioning where this now leaves Cas after our take over not going through as expected, now the only side in SL without a big money backer. Could we still be at risk for 26 and beyond by a resurgent Bradford or Toulouse ?

Our takeover hasn’t not gone through either and none of the SL survive if their backers turn the money tap off.
I would be more worried if Jepson had walked away. As it is we will have to sit it out, but also play the game to hang onto our A Grade.

Maybe just maybe we won’t be bottom after round 1.

That presumably means they’ve still got cash flow issues

Reasons given below (from their website)

Salford Red Devils can confirm that the club will still be under the restrictions of the sustainability cap for this weekend’s opening Betfred Super League fixture against St Helens on Saturday 15 February. As such, the club will be fielding a team featuring predominantly reserve squad players this weekend.

Following the change of ownership, all documents have been submitted to the RFL for final approval, which is still ongoing.

Although the club is disappointed to still be under the restriction, there is an understanding that the process requires the appropriate time to be completed and we are complying with each request as it is provided. It is hoped this will be completed in time for the first home fixture of the season against Leeds Rhinos on Saturday 22 February.

Would be nice if RFL took another 4 weeks to sort it out ;)

This only benefits sts by handing them the 2pts as they're looking to be able to play full strength the week after. I wish we had them first.
