Must be a bit of a let down that, leaves a SL club to go to oz then comes home to play amateur.
How many times have we said the grass isn’t always greener.
Unless he’s home for the off season, but surely his Aussie club wouldn’t allow him to play in case of injury.

He’s arrived.
Don’t think he’s enjoying the cold, he looks a bit forlorn.

Re: New signing, retention?
Cas weren't offering anything to Alfie at the end of his contract, and the opportunity came up to go play for Lynchy in Oz, initially on a 3 month deal as a play / holiday. After his final game Cas did say they'd have kept him on in the reserves. He loved it in Oz but for various reasons decided not to go back. For now he's back playing with his mates at Kippax, and it's great to see him just enjoying it with a smile on his face. He wants to get back into the professional game, and there is some interest, so fingers crossed it will work out for him.old cas lass wrote: ↑02 Dec 2024, 12:43 Must be a bit of a let down that, leaves a SL club to go to oz then comes home to play amateur.

RE Alfie watched him a good number of times when he was coming through our ranks i always thought he would have made it into our first team so suprised when i saw him turn out for Kippax the lad had a great game, we can not keep them all, but i am sure there is a pro club out there that will pick him upBoothinho wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024, 07:22Cas weren't offering anything to Alfie at the end of his contract, and the opportunity came up to go play for Lynchy in Oz, initially on a 3 month deal as a play / holiday. Lot of good things been said about our new signing online ...if we can just find a good starting prop now won't be easy with no Quota spaces left tho

Harvey Livett available. Even with Simbakins signing I feel we are still short in the backrow positions and he can also cover centre. He has even played stand off previously. He'd be a handy pick up.

Re: New signing, retention?
Certainly wouldn't be a bad signing , and if we could pick him up as well as another prop then at least we would have some strength in depth in the pack , but would definitely want to keep him in back row and not mess about in centre/halves etcThe Firm wrote: ↑10 Dec 2024, 15:52 Harvey Livett available. Re: New signing, retention?
I agree, ideally we could do with two props but that isn’t going to happen so we’ll likely see Lawler in the middle again on a good number of occasions so he’d be handy to have. Although having him able to cover elsewhere in an emergency would be useful if we are going with a smaller number of experienced players in the squad.5menofsteel wrote: ↑10 Dec 2024, 18:01Certainly wouldn't be a bad signing , and if we could pick him up as well as another prop then at least we would have some strength in depth in the pack , but would definitely want to keep him in back row and not mess about in centre/halves etcThe Firm wrote: ↑10 Dec 2024, 15:52 Harvey Livett available. Livett would be a handy pick up for us oursquad needs more experienced bodies added to it especially in the forwards
