DOR
So Danny Wilson has been the director of rugby now for over a year and half, and he said to judge at the end of this season just gone. What has everyone made to his tenure so far as DOR?
How many of his signings been a success?
How many of them have failed?
With just over a couple of weeks left until the start of pre season and only one signing officially confirmed I think it’s very worrying personally. The only bloke that has been signed what position has he been signed to play? For the eels nsw cup team he has played full back/wing/centre/half.
This is one of the smallest packs I’ve ever known us have with many players under 6 foot. We desperately needed 2 starting props minimum.
If it’s true we’ve signed ASI he could prove to be a lot better than what we currently have.
Another hooker signed? If you would have said to me what’s one position we didn’t need strengthening in I would have probably said hooker. And to waste a quota spot there when we’re crying out for a centre and 2 props I’m not sure.
What’s your thoughts on Wilson?

Re: DOR
Wouldn’t worry about him going forward he won’t be in the role in 6 months.

Re: DOR
Well we’ve been promised news of signings and soon so I’m reserving my judgement until they are ( or aren’t) revealed

Re: DOR
I would look at bringing Chris Chester as our DOR. Done a fantastic job of picking players up at Leigh.

Re: DOR
Chris Chester has done a brilliant job identifying good players at Leigh. I’m pretty sure if jepson thinks Wilson isn’t up to the job he will get shut

I agree. So not sure why he’d come to us!Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024, 08:49 Chris Chester has done a brilliant job identifying good players at Leigh.

Re: DOR
I didn’t suggest that he would come to us but…
He is from round here (Wakefield). We also have a wealthy owner these days with potentially investors so we could offer more than what Leigh are paying him (doubt it mind).

I know he was on the staff at Cas for a while. What did he do?

Re: DOR
I have to agree.
Re: DOR
the signings last year were made on a very tight budget hence the lack of quality, but we did produce a player the represented England plus two players that are in this years PNG team
Re: DOR
A chocolate fire guard at the gates of hell, a sun roof on a submarine or roller skates for a donkey would do a better job than Danny wilson.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.
Re: DOR
It would seem he got promoted above his abilities. I shudder to think of the amount of severance pay we have shelled out on players and coaches in recent times.
Re: DOR
to be completely honest he signed a right back of pants. i don’t think he’s done anything better than ‘mediocre’ .
