Re: New signing, retention?
The post makes no sense though "signed with Newcastle"

Re: New signing, retention?
Got to question who sanctioned the signing of this guy in the first place.
Statements like "..we've been following him for two years, " glad hes now on board" for what turns out to be someone is no better than amateur league standard.

Re: New signing, retention?
I cant help agreeing here, a statement along the lines of "we think he has potential, and we're going to give him an environment to improve and fulfil that potential" would have been better. The fact he didnt make the grade is no ones fault then.the happy hooker9 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2024, 11:59Got to question who sanctioned the signing of this guy in the first place.

Would have given him a pre season he didn’t have one last season.

Re: New signing, retention?
the lad well out of condition when he came over with his stats and the video shots of him i thought he would cut the mustard, not shown any reason to keep him in the time we have had him
Re: New signing, retention?
I'm with you on that one good luck to him in the future

Re: New signing, retention?
Was he worth the punt? Personally I Dont think so. Must have been convinced or promised a lot, or offered a whack of cash to come over. Who would upstick and move back to the other side of the world when you’ve already moved to the other side of the world once for it to only last 8 months, then again saying that he will probably get a contract with top of the league and go on to haunt us like many of our recent departures over the last few years.
Re: New signing, retention?
Can you name the those who’ve gotten a contract at “top of the league” and gone on to haunt us?
Only one I can think of, who signed for top club, was Shelton but that was so long ago I had a full head of hair!
And don’t say Daryl Clark as Warrington were nowhere near when he was there!
Re: New signing, retention?
Clark, sneyd, Willie isa, Mcmeekan, hardaker. Just to name a few for you who have departed us with or without a circumstance and arrived at a top end of the league club and have gone on to having great years and tearing us to shreds when we have played them.Fumper27 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2024, 18:15Can you name the those who’ve gotten a contract at “top of the league” and gone on to haunt us?

Re: New signing, retention?
Warrington were bang average whilst Clark was at the club. I’d guess that we got into the playoffs more than Wire in those years.
Sneyd played for a club who finished between 6th and 9th in all but two season he was with them. We made the play offs more than Hull after he left.
Willie Isa left us to sign for Widnes, where are they now?
McMeekan played in a few finals, nothing over and above what he did whilst at Cas
Hardaker won one LL shield after leaving Cas. Again, nothing over and above what he did whilst at Cas
Great to have a grown up debate though @Martiger without resorting to insults

if a player moves on to a club that offers a better wage who can blame them even the H bombs moved on loyalty does not pay the bills
